That's the difference with the elite players. They put their body on the line for the team even if not 100%. Suarez and Gerrard were the same.

I’d arguably put Salah above Gerrard in the PL era now. Tough one as Gerrard played in some many crap teams.

Gerrard has some horrific squads to play with. It was only that short 2 year period when he has Alonso, Masc, Momo where we should have won more. I still blame Rafa for that.

The Houlier sides were a good first 11 but not a strong squad and again he was very defensive.

Stevie is still number 1 for me but only just.
