Why i asked if anyone knew anything, we've all seen a bit of palace right? never stood out to me. Doesnt need to have a good game to get a feel either, as i said doesnt seem to excel in any attribute physically or technically. cost them 25m so theyd want double min, prob triple that investment in this market.
I've watched him a load of times and thought he was decent at what he does, breaking play up, long legs to get there before the opposition, quick enough and decent carrying the ball. I've never seen anything to suggest he's good enough for a team that wants to challenge at the top or he's anything more than a £30m player.
I just don't see him in a Liverpool team.

Was gonna post similarly. Seen him about a dozen times now this season and last, very much a one tricky pony of a player.
Not terrible by any means but a solid premier league player in that £20-30m bracket and Crystal Palace is his level and ceiling.
i read he struggled to last a full 90 mins to beging with an get up to speed of the prem and really struggled as a lone DM until Hodgson came in and gave him some help in mf. From a palace ST holder and coach i think it was.

Yh Palace be happy with him and for 25m just can't see him justifying 70/80m or even 50m tbh.
He was Palace player of the season last season and the season before he did really well in France. We have plenty of technical players in our first 11 but what we lack is people to do the dirty work. As long as he can play on the half turn then he will do the job for us. Win ball, stop counters and recycle.

He excels at that stuff think hes 97 % on interceptions like 83 % on tackles high on blocks and clearances too.
Still its palace, and he has more help than he'd get at Liverpool and his style seems more patient where ours is more front foot pressing. Dont think physical attribute are all that either. For 70m definitely not, theyd replace him with ease with that money and have 50m left.

50m is the max I would go if there is any clause. Think that laid back style is more due to Palace tactics cos in France he was a more box to box front footed player and a b tec Tchouameni.
Also Endo is still not the answer. He is still just the Milner replacement for me.
Chelsea are signing yet another £50m in Jeremy Doku. Just a farce.
I don't think we're signing a DM. Maybe Gravenbach because we've been creaming ourselves over him for a while now

Cheap and some vague crap about "potential" even though he's been awful for ages. The perfect FSG bargain bin signing.

A year ago was one of the biggest talents in football, just hasn’t worked out after a move to a big club early on.

Yes. Correct.
Nothing to see here
There is potential upside to Gravenbach but there's definitely more risk involved. I see it as similar to Ox & Thiago. We know there's a player there but consistency will be the major drawback.
The other thing for me is how many of our new signings have genuinely kicked on from their previous club's form? Jota is the last I can think of. It easy when they players where coming into a side where we knew what we wanted from them. Not so much now as Klopp & Lijnders are still figuring out what they want to do these days.

Many consider Henry to be the greatest EPL player, had a really bad year with Juve. They couldn't see how to use him and in the end moved him on. It happens all the time.

Different kind of risk. Ox and Thiago have always missed a lot of games so the question was simply could you get them on the pitch regularly enough. Gravenberch doesn't miss games - 16 in 4 years (4 of those were C19 - https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-gravenberch/verletzungen/spieler/478573)
With him it's a question of whether his talent can translate to performances. To my mind, it's very much will he be a KdB/Salah where it comes together for him or will be be a Balotelli'esk player who nobody doubts the ability of but you just don't see it on the pitch.
If the fee is £20m then it's worth a gamble. If he doesn't work out, sell him to Saudi in a couple of years for the same amount.
He's 21 years old, has Champions League and international experience and did actually play in 33 games last season, albeit not many starts.
