But it's all positive from yesterday. Every player was really good
Trent seemed to drop into CB as opposed to DM and I do think that helped quite a lot.
He was still able to get on the ball loads but there wasn't as much open space.

We didn't invert as much against Villa, hence Robbo had an exceptional game as well.
Villa's press was atrocious though...so still need to see against an opponent that's more aggressive
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trent and Matip kept swapping positions rather than him inverting which is something new
Some of Trents long passing to Mo was illegal
Call me bitter but I thoroughly enjoyed watching Lavia in the stands while Caicedo messed up on the pitch as Chelsea got turned over at home by Forest.
It's going to be a long season for them again, I feel.
For all the complaining on here after a very average pre-season, I think we’re beginning to see the makings of Klopp’s second, hopefully great, team.
Ali, TAA, AMA, Szobo, Diaz and Nunez could form part of a great side. VVD still has a couple of years to contribute and if Konate sorts out the injury niggles then he could be a major player for us as well.
I know he’s a bit hit and miss but Nunez really excites me as a number 9. He’s got all the tools.
I think you're right Naby. Need to get long term successors in for Mo, Robbo, Virgil and potentially Ali, then we have the core of a squad who can play and develop together for another 4-5 years hopefully.
Another thing I noticed about Szobo, I can't believe how maturely he plays for a relatively young player. His positional awareness and ability to find space looks like he's in his 30s.
We really do have some exciting up and coming talent. Wonder if it will make Klopp extend by a couple of years.
I hope so.
Yeah Trent's positioning was really interesting but what intrigued me more was it seemed that it was left entirely up to him. Never looked like it was predetermined through tactics. Obviously Klopp and Lijnders told him to pick up space as he found it but whether he inverted in midfield, played on the right of the back 3, in the centre of defence or even his traditional fullback role...it all was decided by Trent and how he thought he could exploit the opposition the most.
I really hope that's the vision

That would be huge for us. If the team really start to show title winning potential, it would be tough for Klopp to walk away.

Had me in the first half
Klopp does seem invigorated this season and said something the other day about being in the changing room and merely thinking 'i love this team'.
Won't get my hopes up but wouldn't surprise me if he does extend off the back of this season.

Yeah, only Pranks is unbeaten now I think. I did get over 100 points on the proper FF though….

Draft league should not be head to head. Most points is where it should be at IMO.

A wonderful weekend. Great performance and then watching United lose late in the game after thinking they had scored a late winner
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That was fkin brilliant, finally their luck ran out. Arsenal s luck continues though, theyre getting away with a lot very fortunate to be on 10 points from what ive seen. Though they were the better team vs utd they were still disappointing imo vs a poor utd side.

Great weekend of football all round and our most complete performance against a good side in as long as I can remember really.
Controlled it start to finish, scored some good goals, kept them to half chances and continued our unbeaten run.
Only slight negative was Nunez not adding to his tally from Newcastle, would have been great to see him double down on those strikes, but he was an absolute menace as always and played a big part in our win.
Thought Quansah looked assured again, may be a player in there. Also think Robertson is starting to look more comfortable in that role.
What really struck me was the quality that we were able to call upon from the bench. Lovely stuff and still Gravenberch to come in as well plus hopefully another body in January.
All of this is topped off by realising that we have an absolute monster on our hands in Szoboszlai.
Motm again and rightly so.
Tekkers, power, two footed and a great attitude.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah man, all good and it's actually scary how good Szobo looks. He came outta nowhere FFS, now looking like a cult hero in the making. Hopefully he carries on like that and becomes one of the best all rounder midfielders in the world as his ceiling looks non existent the mo.

they highlighted it on motd, instead of trent going into midfield he took matips cb spot and matip went rb. Gave him more space and time on the ball without having to play on the half turn.

United are lucky to have any points on the board, they've been absolutely terrible. Almost got lucky again yesterday. Arsenal not as good as last season but still much better than United. A win was the expected result so for me I don't see them as lucky.
Ten Hag's second season and what he seems to be trying to do and how he wants to play doesn't look like will cause problems in this league at the mo. It was in fashion 20 years ago. Hojlund looks like a straight up Weghorst replacement to hold the ball up and bring others into play. Only one game but he doesn't look so mobile to me, which is surprising.
He's started a fight with Sancho as well so it's all starting to crumble again at Utd.
Felt we deserve credit but also Emery took a huge risk, that high line vs us was asking for trouble. I said if he does this we'll cause them a lot of problems. Someone said Villas press was poor and not aggressive enough, think a team brave enough to press that high up is aggressive, sure they could have done better but it looked alright at times too.

Don't think he handled the loss well at all and the stuff abpit Sancho was unnecessary. Definite cracks appearing and Sancho has taken to social media about it. Anthony also has a cloud over him atm plus we all know the situation with Maguire. That changing room must be a mess.
What a shame.

he didnt handle the loss well, stood infront of keane richards etc on sky saying it wasnt offisde it was a pen and a foul for the rice goal. They all stood there silent could feel the awkwardness . They stood there thinking the same as the rest of us.
