I think Robbo has suffered from the inverting as his strength was always bombing up field then bombing back again. He still attacks but it doesn't feel as much as he used to.

Think someone on here said Slot likes to invert but maybe having a double pivot will allow Robbo more freedom again.

We don't have to make wholesale changes for next season. The club just have to strengthen some important positions and we will be fine. Especially the spine of the team. A ball playing, quick physical CB, a DM and a clinical striker.

Robbo has not been the same since Mane left which was a while back. He has been very inconsistent.

Quansah looked so much better when he came on. A good pre season and bit more bulk and he could be a regular starter for us. He defo has Matip vibes but needs to do better in the air.

Regardless of what we want as a club, I'm still weary of Salah, Van Dijk, Trent and Alisson taking matters into their own hands tbh

Klopp always said he wants players that want to be here...Edwards has his own policy on players over 30. I'm sure each one of them might be considering their options.

Also I'm not sure where I saw it but I think Thiago is doing his coaching badges with us. I think he'll see out his contact. I mean if he thinks he still has still has a playing career in the immediate future than we might as well book him into a mental institute.

Thiago contract has a few weeks left!

Will be interesting to see what comes of Carvalho under Slot. Haven't seen anything of his Feyenoord but reports say he plays 4231 so Carvalho may be suited to the number 10 role. Both him and Morton have done well on loan at Hull.

If Salah does go, plus Thiago and Matip that would be a lot off the wage bill. Gotta be close to £1m a week there alone? Plus then Klopp's obviously.

Have to be making some serious investment in new players with that. Plus new improved contracts for the players we simply can't lose e.g Trent, Mac, Alisson to make them our top earners.

I still can't quite fathom how our clubs wage bill is so big though. We've had the bonuses argument in the past but in 22/23 we finished 5th and won nothing, so how was it at an astronomic record high.

Could be completely wrong here but I'd assume any bonuses from 21/22 would show under the 22/23 accounts due to the financial year?

Plus we did have Keita, Milner, Ox and Bobby who'd all have been on 100-150k a week.

Morton is not good enough for us. Championship is his level.

Carvalho has an opportunity but that AM/10 position he will be up against Dom, Grav, Elliott and even Gakpo.

You can guarantee Real will be keeping tabs on the situation though.

Imagine having Mbappe and Vini on the end of Trent's crosses rather than barndoor Nunez.

If Trent doesn’t sign this summer we have to think about selling him. He would go for absolutely huge money and we can’t let him walk away on a free.

Hopefully he signs a new contract especially if Slot has particular plans for him.

We must sign Trent to a new deal. He is our most important player. Even when we were poor yesterday he still created 2 great opportunities.

Bascombe and Joyce coming out with articles at exactly the same time talking about players, and both have mentioned how Nunez was a Klopp signing not an recruitment one. The recruitment preferred Nkunku apparently but I suppose he'd have been a cripple so either way it'd have failed

That makes it sound like Nunez's performance for Benfica in that CL game at Anfield is the reason why we bought him. Should have known at the time he would be perpetually called offside after that one game

Who's actually going to pay good money for Nunez? We will want £50m minimum.
