Well that was awful. End of an era…sad it didn’t go the way we wanted it to but that’s football eh
It kinda highlights how much we need a change. Kudos to Klopp for initiating it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't agree with this. If Klopp was staying the narrative would have been different. We would be saying that was a good unexpected title challenge in the early stages of Klopp 2.0 and with a couple of singings this summer we can be with in a much better chance.
It's because it's Klopps last season is why we all feel gutted.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep this.
I agree with those who say we have probably overachieved this season and a lot of that is down to Klopp's management. The reality is we give up far too many chances to opposition to be a title winning team because our defence just isn't good enough. Nor do we have a top quality defensive midfielder to help dress it up. Jota appears to be our only clinical forward at the other end too.
Have to say 3rd position and a trophy is a decent season for this group of players as that is their level really. The exit from the Europa league was limp and pathetic though.
It’s just the manner of how it’s all fallen apart that’s so remarkable. I agree with others that it will be an excellent season if we get third and a trophy.
You do have to look at this Klopp announcement. Surely if there was going to be some leaks (why was there going to be leak in first place) we should just denied it as late as possible.
Someone like Slot does not need a 3 month notice. In the end the players buckled under the pressure of trying to win it for Klopp.
Think Van Dijk needs a Carragher to his Gerrard type captaincy.
I know he is vocal on the pitch but Henderson used to hound everyone. He was also a massive cheerleader on the pitch too lol. Maybe annoying at times but sometimes it helps too.

Excellent is pushing it.
Team that at best we thought would finish third, finishes third.
To now start blaming Klopp leaving, or start saying the fans contribute to defeats, is nauseating revisionism.
The last three weeks is entirely on the players, and it’s been a bridge too far. It’s not any more complicated than that, and I’m not sure you can apportion blame to not achieving something that no-one thought we would anyway.

The Europa is the one that stings most to be honest.
Not even that we were knocked out, or even that we lost a game 3-0, but to be so ruthlessly outplayed in every single department at Anfield when we were favourites for the competition was woeful.
I'm fine with not winning the league against this Arsenal and City side, but not really any such excuse in the Europa.

Obviously that is the calibre of DM we are after, but just having a bit mroe depth in that position would improve us a lot.
Endo is hardly a world beater but we are clearly a much better team with him in the side.

I've been thinking this too after the past month given we keep making the same mistakes over and over again on the pitch.
It feels like all the talk of winning it for Klopp has got in their heads so as soon we got knocked out the FA cup they've been dwelling on it, rather than thinking ok we can still win the league and Europa.
Surely that's on the captain to give them a bit of a kick up the arris and get their mentality right.
Things could look very different within Klopp.
Might be controversial but there's some players I don't rate as good enough for the level we want to be at without Klopp at the helm. Players like Jones and Elliot within the Klopp effect I'm honesty not so sure about.
Obviously I could be very wrong. Who knows what happens when the new manager comes in.
Are we gonna have to add a caveat to every comment we make now? There's gonna be a lot of possibilities considered and a lot of sheet said on here until the new manager comes in and we can see the direction he wants to take us.

I would persevere with Nunez in a front 3 and play him on the left.
A change of system I’m not so sure.
Opta non-pen big chances are converted 39% of the time. When Liverpool have been losing this season, they've scored just three of 23, 13%.
They've been fine when drawing (39.1%) or ahead (40.8%). But not with more pressure.

Pretty much highlights what I was saying earlier.
Forwards have been crap but the extra pressure of being 1-0 down every game is clearly getting to them

Plays in Nunez who has kilometer of space each side of the keeper but still manages to hit the keeper when it's harder to do that than score.
