Probably not the best way to judge a flying winger then. Diaz probably isn’t winning many 100m races but he’s rapid with the ball. Same with Nunez.

Ilori was rapid! In fact it was the only thing he was good at.

Sancho really isn’t that quick, it’s exceptionally rare you’ll see him beat a man for pace, his strength lies in his balance and ability to go either way.

If you look at his list you've got tons of defenders and midfielders who are definitely not faster that Sancho but are above him on this list. If he wants to prove that Sancho isn't fast then this top speed argument is nonsense.

A simple Google search would disagree. Everyone seems to describe him as quick, fast or having acceleration.

All the things you say are also true, but pointing out he has has balance, good dribbling and can drop the shoulder isn't proof he is not fast. It's just waffle.

Very rarely do CB's need to hit top speed and especially someone like VVD. He is as quick as any other player but it is all about timing.

On the contrary, CBs have the best opportunity to hit top speed because there can be a lot of space behind them to run into when chasing back.

Top speed isn't about a player's top speed, it's more about the opportunity to and space to pick up all that speed. Sancho had many weapons at Dortmund and I have listed a few above, but pace was also one of his weapons, otherwise his other strong points would be negated somewhat if he wasn't fast.
