Mount's fall-off has been brazy tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As with most signings I expect that’s on United more than Mount.

I think if players like Mount, Sancho, Antony signed for Liverpool you’d have a good player there. United is just a graveyard for players.

Wouldn’t have signed any of them for the money United did, or paid them close to the money United do, but therein lies the problem anyway.

I thought Mount could come-in and do what Oxlade-Chamberlain did for us his first few years

Its been crazy in the fact he played unreal amounts of minutes for his age, then he joined utd and hes been injured for pretty much a full year.

Also Mounts a very good player, but they still got bent over for him. 60m with a year left.. bailing Chelsea out like that, they should recieve some sort of punishmentt for that alone.

In his prime for his age etc with a lengthty contract 60m np but year left, wants out anyway. wtfs gone on there? i imagine a few clubs were interested, maybe even us. Utd just went in big to make sure they got him? only thing i can think of why you'd pay 60m for him in that situation.

Him not being fit since is just unlucky as his record prior was he was a bit of a machine. Maybe hes been ruined by Chelsea playing him too much? and Frank at Derby?

Absolutely but also, we would not have gone anywhere near Antony.

I'm hoping we get to see a little Chiesa this weekend, would love that

Our interest in Mount was a surprise to me and I said if that's who the club have identified then let's see how it goes. I don't have to agree with everything decision the club makes, or go online to act petulant because of that.

We’ll see with him. My expectations are low but he does have lovely technique. If he can get into double figures for goals and assists this season I’ll be happy enough I reckon.

How have we come through the international break player wise ?

I know Mac Alister had a knock, but other than that are we all ship shape and Bristol fashion ?

It would be the first time in ages we have come back from an international break with no issues. Not even a 12.30 kick off to moan about.

well somehow elliott broke his foot again? right before the 2 games a week come

Elliot broke his foot
AMA has an adductor issue
Jones trained most of the week

posted on 12/9/24

Wow, I did not know that about Elliot. Good thing Jones has trained all week.

Would Elliot have played if everyone was fit ? In the more attacking positions we have a few options and a new addition.

Alexis Mac Allister is annoying though, especially as Argentina played him after he had muscle fatigue. Although reports are that he should be OK for the Forrest game on the weekend, but Slot might not risk him.

Out of interest, why are your expectations low?

I certainly don't have high expectations, I'm not expecting another Salah or Mane, but I am thinking we may have got someone who can make a significant contribution the squad, perhaps even challenge for a starting place given his flexibility. My only concern is fitness.

Not much reason for them to be high.

Not going to pretend I was watching Juve last year though, so just going by his numbers.

He’s scored double figures in the league once in his entire career, and that was in Italy years ago. He’s never provided too many assists either.

He’s a good option, but I don’t see any reason to expect him to be some world beater in the Prem.

He's a Shaqiri, Minamino type signing...whether he has the cajones to make himself a cult legend like Origi remains to be seen

Fair enough. I know this is ja606 and middle ground is generally frowned upon, but I don't really have high or low expectations. I certainly expect a contribution but not a star player.

Only mitigation I would offer up on his goals for Juve is they've been a bit of a mess for the last few years, relative to their status, and scrapping for top 4 rather than more. And he's been playing under Allegri who is quite defensive, they've scored mid-50's in terms of goals in the last 3 years, roughly equivalent to the likes of Fulham, Palace, Bournemouth & Utd (). If he can get used to the EPL then we'll create a lot more opportunities for him to score and assist.

I’ve not been watching him play so a lot of guess work from me based on very little!

He’s good to watch though, so looking forward to that.
