Also Endo had a good game. From a past press conference, Slot said Endo deserved minutes for his attitude coming on late for last 5 in games without complaint. On yesterday's evidence, I'd hope he plays more to help protect Gravenberch a little bit. I love his attitude and tenacity, even if he's a little slow
Slot hasn't started out rotating that much but I guess that's understandable given it's been working and he's new in the role. Jones got a chance and shone against Chelsea so now he's playing a lot more, wouldn't surprise me if the same happens with Endo now
That save from Jaros last night was one of the best saves i have seen in a long while. He looked really good yesterday. Probably should have parried the ball better for the first goal but do we have the best number 3 in the world?

I've always liked Endo, clearly somewhat limited as a footballer but his attitude and energy makes up for it.
Amorim confirmed for United. Not the right choice for me.
I think he'd do well at Liverpool or City as we are properly run clubs with a cohesive strategy but I just don't see such a young managing hacking the circus at United. Too many players with poor attitudes, too much pressure from the fans with unrealistic expectations. It's a poorly run club from top to bottom and I think it's going to be too big of a job.
What they need is an Ancelloti, Klopp, Spalleti, Conte etc.

Said before theyre under new leadership so its wrong to judge them on what went on under the Glaziers. Theyve always backed the manager tbf to them regardless of what else, ETH was backed with 600m or something in 2 and a half years, you have to go back over 6 years back to 2018 for us to have spent that So hes got every chance to turn it around, as bad as they are id say their squads in much better shape than ours was when Klopp took over too.

The new leadership that reneged on their decision to remove ETH, gave him a new contract and let him spend nearly a quarter of a billion pounds on players to sack him three months later?
INEOS just as bad as the Glazers at the moment.
Not claiming to know much about Amorim but bit of research indicates he likes a 3-4-3 focussing on high pressing and possession.
Got his work cut out with that bunch of players I think. Technically limited and they don't work very hard.

What gap do you reckon we have Fred?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well outside of our two main CBs there is a huge gap in quality, we have problems at LB which seems to be getting exposed, we don't have huge amounts of depth at centre forward when Jota is out for his 2 months a season and then we are reliant on Darwin.
I also think, depending on where we intend on using Harvey, that we need a CAM to push Szob and give him competition. We don't want to put Mac there, and I don't rate Jones further forward but let's wait until Harvey is back and has some minutes before we judge.
For me, we need at least one CB, preferably left footed, a LB, a CDM and a centre forward to give us a squad capable of a season long challenge in 4 competitions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s just FM stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Great comment as always.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is though. We have six forwards who are all potentially starters, two for each position, and you want another? There’s no logic and it’s simply not going to happen without getting rid of one of them, which is very unlikely.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We also have two dedicated left backs and I can't see us having 3 dedicated left backs on our books. Only pressing issue is CB and DM really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We'd need to ship out one of Robertson and Tsimikas but it's probably the weakest spot we have in our first 11 currently.
DM, CB by far the priorities but we could use a U21 style striker that can come into the side when Jota gets injured, and an improvement at LB.
I think though that CB and DM will haunt us this season as we will inevitably get injuries in both positions, especially centre back and there's a huge gap in quality after Konate and VVD.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's a gap, which there always will be when a team loses a first team player and plays a backup but I wouldn't say huge gap. Not many teams in the league have better backups at centre back than Gomez and Quansah.

Arsenal have the same issues we do, but Saliba and Gabriel have proven to be far less injury prone. They also have White and Calafiori that can play there.
Apparently Ten Hag was that desperate to sign Frenkie de Jong in his first summer that the club put together a compilation video of club legends trying to convince him to join and sent it to him. Frenkie didn't even open the message.

Arsenal also back up is rank by the way. If City play Gvardiol at centre back they no left back. Add Walker and Lewis to the five above and that's their whole backline. Guardiola has been on crying about no players today.
We have
TAA
Bradley
Konate
Gomez
VVD
Quansah
Robertson
Tsimikas

I think there's an argument that we need a CB if Trent stays.
Back in the Fabinho days, he stepped back when Trent and Robertson bombed forward so effectively we had 3 at the back with the CM still in place. If we're not going to have a traditional DM to anchor then I'd probably argue we need a City'esk left sided CB at LB, so when Trent moves forward the back 3 shuffle and cover.

Yes I would move Tsimikas on and look for that option
Other than City and Arsenal who else plays a CB at left back? Not RM, Bayern, Barca. Think we are overthinking this. We just need another Robbo and that man is Ait Noori for me. He is rapid and great going forward. Like Robbo at Hull, at time he looks suspect at the back cos he is playing for Wolves.

Fully agreed there when Liverpool had Trent and Robbo going forward your midfield covered the gaps, it was a more disciplined set up with them but it worked very well

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Reckon he’d cost a small fortune. Not too many LB’s of high quality out there…..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Contract expires 2026 so Wolves will look to sell summer 25.

Reckon he’d cost a small fortune. Not too many LB’s of high quality out there…..

I don't think we need one no. Another would be a nice bonus however.

Fully agreed there when Liverpool had Trent and Robbo going forward your midfield covered the gaps, it was a more disciplined set up with them but it worked very well

Contract expires 2026 so Wolves will look to sell summer 25.
