So let's sacrifice a genuine title/CL bid this season and not do anything until contracts are signed which at this stage will only be decided in the summer?

I do think if we’re still near the top in January there could be one big signing….

I expect us to be in the mix. We look solid at the mo and our main rivals are stuttering.

Looking at fixtures I expect us to be top or second come new years day.

He wrote exactly like Michael Edwards. How to not spend money.

I watched Atalanta school Napoli with a 3-0 win and Ederson yet again stood out. He dominated that midfield. Grav and Ederson in double pivot cover all bases and more.

I hate to admit it because I don't like getting ahead of myself, but Arsenal are looking vulnerable and if there is any justice in the sport whatsoever then City will end up with some kind of points deduction. This is far from the best squad we have had in the last 6-7 years, but this year could be the best chance we get to win it for a long time.

We've got to be ambitious in January if the opportunity arises, with so little spent in previous windows there is just no excuse.

I don't think Ederson was anywhere near the stand out. There were several players who did stand out for them but his passing is much better this season than it has been previously. He was tidy on the ball and good at bringing it forward.

It was a strange game from Napoli, they looked tired and were outfought by an Atalanta team full of energy.

Having seen his passing this season I've fewer doubts about him fitting into the Liverpool midfield and classing him as just a destroyer. Definitely may be worth a look at in January although with them doing so well he may come at a premium.

Might sound dumb writing them off so early but I think if Arsenal drop more points this weekend v Chelsea then they're all but done.

If we take 90 points as a title win then they'd already need to basically win 24/27 games.

They could do it but that would be some mental turnaround.

Yeah, to be fair they have the caveat of having had one of the toughest starts to a season I can ever remember with a silly number of trips away from home to top teams.

The danger for them is they could be 10 and 8 points behind us and City which is hard to make up regardless who you play, and the scoreboard pressure of being that far behind is you start dropping points in games you shouldn't. That's what happened to City in 19/20 anyway.

Arsenal's home wins this season haven't exactly been convincing either.

Way too early mate. We still have difficult fixtures ourselves. I do expect Chelsea to take some points off Arsenal.

As per usual I only look at City and we must beat them when they come to Anfield.

People writing off Arsenal way too early. After this Sunday they would have played Villa, Spurs, City, Newcastle and Chelsea away already.

Only really Anfield and Old Trafford are tough on paper. Long long way to go yet.

They've had tough fixtures but it's hard to then just completely flip your form when you've not been able to build up momentum.

I also just don't think they look as good in general. The defence isn't as watertight as last season and they seem to be struggling to create without Odegaard, with almost an over reliance on set pieces. Plus a fair few of their games have been too emotional with the red cards, world is against us mentality, and that takes it's toll over the season.

I would still expect them in top 3 regardless but they'll have a lot of catching up to do if us and City increase the gap this weekend.

It's actually a compliment to Arsenal with the start they've had. No computer throws that out...it's 1 in a gazillion chance.

It's certain City saw them as a genuine threat this season

Yes, but they’ve also had some poor losses like Bournemouth and Newcastle, both teams they should be beating with room to spare. It’s not all about the tough away games that’s not really where Arsenal are slipping up.

Arsenal arent dead yet, just need City to suffer some more

I said at the start of the season I thought Arsenal might struggle a little more than expected. Not for any reason other than their big players have been overplayed for the past two seasons and that it's really difficult to challenge the City juggernaut year after year and come out with nothing. Mentally, physically - that consistency is draining. We never maintained the challenge for 3 consecutive years and whilst I appreciate Klopp's playing intensity is different to that of Arteta, still think it's mentally hard.

I think they'll pick up a bit given their current ppg would see them end on 68 points - think they'll do better than that. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them finish closer to 5th than 1st though. But even if that does happen, they'll be back - it's a strong squad with crucial players at good ages.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot says Ibrahima Konate is "completely recovered and available to play" after coming off injured at half-time of the 2-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.

Wouldnt say they should be beating them, they're good teams. But if you wanna beat City to a title you probably have to be beating them.
