We've got as many points in the CL as United have in the PL.
Diaz still on less wages than Nat Phillips is just wrong.

That Diaz first goal is one of the best finishes I’ve seen for some time, sublime. The pass from Jones too….

Yeah the finish was exquisite. He looked absolutely superb in the 9 role in the second half.

Think we can safely say the lack of a suitable candidate is what did it, which in a country that size is insane. They’ve gone for better the devil they know.
Feckin yanks.

Tbh it’s time we started to stand on our own two feet rather than being propped up by America, same for Europe too. Can’t be relying on such a volatile regime
I haven't been following...who's winning?
How poor do Madrid look this season by the way? Mbappe signing doesn't look like it's worked at all.
Hoping that may sway Trent somewhat.

Balance is off...I think Rodrygo will eventually be sacrificed when they get it right
theyve got so much talent though theyll spank teams even when theyre sheit. They should have spanked Barca in the first half. Lets hope Mbappes offside all the time vs us
comment by Inbefore (U20589)
today there was no high press first half at all really aside of half arrsed pressed from their gks, we dropped and sat off in our own half pretty willingly.
Slots just been responding to Carras monday night analysis of him and said he likes the high press just as much as Jurgen. Dno why like vs Brighton and tonight first half we just drop off 10 men behind the ball in our own half so willingly. And the effort gap comparison before 1st n 2nd 45 min in terms of sprints etc is huge.
Maybe its what he wants idk, conserve energy 1st half let them tire out and gain a false sense of security and then up our press and intensity 2nd?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Read someone commenting on this last night. They were speculating just as you say, that Slot is happy to play conservative first half in case or wait for the opponent to play open, make some adjustments second half and surprise the opponent. Means we rely on our defence which of course has been solid
Alternatively, our good spell yesterday followed shortly after the crowd picking-up and singing loud.
Personally I think it's a bit of both, the team respond to the crowd but undoubtedly, Slot's tweaks and subs have been spot-on every time he's adjusted the team. We played within ourselves first half but also were very sloppy, felt like Mac and Trent were losing the ball every 5 mins or so
yh the change vs brighton was clear after Estupinian clashed with Trent. We've seen it so many times before, even if the crowds quiet. The opposition should try their best to do nothing to rile it
I doubt any manager goes into a game wanting the opposition to get the upper hand.
Our slow starts go back at least 2 seasons now

I think it’s more a case of him wanting us to build momentum as the game goes on, so that we peak as the opposition starts to tire. Certainly seemed the case last night, Leverkusen run themselves ragged in the first half and couldn’t live with us in the second.
He clearly hasn’t got the balance quite right yet, as we’re too easily dominated early on against some teams, but that should come with time.
Maybe...but Milan away tells me otherwise and even the Bournemouth game we were out of sight pretty early
I'm not entirely disputing that we may be using rest tactics to manage games...but our slow starts is something that's been a problem since last season at least
I agree that our balance is off. I've been vocal about our structure and pressing since preseason tbh
Hopefully he figures it out but it's still early days
Issues of momentum and slow starts aside
What a day of CL it's been
Closely following our perfect Saturday
Dream week so far, hope we do well against Villa. A day less rest than us and also they're travelling today and Saturday

start of this vid talking about trents defending, summed it up perfectly imo.
Hincape looked decent didnt he, could be an option if we're wanting a versatile lcb? im a fan of the gomes lad in midfield for wolves too, think we were linked with him a lot before he went to wolves for 18m too. Small but combative, bit like mac10.

I thought he was poor, in fact I thought the 4-0 was more to do with how poor they were than how good we were.
