Januzaj vs Sterling

As a United fan, I am a massive fan of Sterling. He has excelled in the #10 role recently and it shows off his through balls, close control and dribbling skills.

Januzaj is a talent. The way he just almost effortlessly beats defenders is something I haven't seen since Ronaldo/Chelsea Robben. Seeing as Sterling has had a year more of Premier League development, I'd say he's slightly ahead.

But Januzaj will be even better this upcoming season.

Red Mamba having a mare as per usual.

Do I have to spell it out for you.

I don't know if you've forgotten this, but you're a Liverpool fan.

In principle, you're no less biased than the United fans.

The only difference is I, and others, haven't tried to rubbish your opinion purely because you might be biased.

Of course we're all biased to some degree.

You're no different, so why the hell are you flinging that at United fans?

Where did I say you dismissed it?

I used the Ronaldo example as a retort to your suggestions that all we can go on is what we've seen.

That's ridiculous.

If we're discussing who might be the better player across their careers, of course we will have to make some predictions and assumptions.

You can only give your opinion based on what you've already seen. What we've seen so far is that Sterling is better than Januzaj. If this changes tough luck for us (I cant see it but this is football) Talking about potential is speculating about an unknown future. I'm going on what I've seen so far which is all you can go on.

You havent seen shiiiit, you only watched MOTD highlight(not even sure about that) and come here with your stupid remarks,

by the way, you are yet to post a single reason for you to believe Januzaj will be next Macheda, or a single full match you watched that featured Januzaj

I never called him fake ronaldo. I remember thinking he was good and fearing that he would turn into a very good player. I think differently about Januzaj.

Welcome Darren what a great contribution.

Different players but this is my take on it.

Sterlings decision making is brilliant. He knows football and technically is, at this time, better in this regard and this is why he can play so many positions. He is also the better athlete and can run all day. He is far more likely to go off the rails though.

Januzaj has better technique. He strikes a ball better, his timing is immaculate and he's a natural. Gifted with two feet he also has great vision. I don't think he will go off the rails.

Both shield and protect the ball very well and both have crazy balance and you can't teach that.

I've seen more of Sterling, obviously, but what I will say, at this stage, is that Sterling is a big game player. If he can stay on the straight and narrow they could both be as good as they want to be.

Fair enough?

Well the United fans that watch Adnan week in week out feel the same about Adnan. He creates the same excitement in the stadium and they actually had very similar first seasons.

For someone who has such a strong opinion on a player you'd expect him to answer a simple question like "How many full matches of Januzaj did you watch?" guess not

you are obviously a clueless wum. nice talking to ya, good bye

Thats great to hear but I disagree, thats all. I could see alot more in Ronaldo even though he took a little stick here and there I honestly cant see Januzaj being much better than half the player ronnie is. However, I have already stated that football is unpredictable and januzaj could turn out to be the greatest of his generation(really cant see it) or flop like macheda. All we can do is give our opinions. I don't see how that a WUM or why you guys are getting wound up. Look at little Darren here... bless.

How many full matches of januzaj did you watch Screen? Or even Rooney? You should reply instantly seeing as a football fan should have that info at his fingertips.

posted on 20/5/14

Nobody is going to take you seriously if you're comparing him to Macheda. Because you either have no clue about football or people have come to the conclusion you're on the wind up.

Either way you're making yourself look like a tool yet again.

Januzaj wins hands down on hype.

People comparing him to Robben (bizarrely as he has little pace which is Robben's biggest strength), Zidane and all sorts, while Martin Tyler at the start of the season was so far up his bum he was looking through his eyes.

All the hype seems to have convinced a lot of Utd fans that he is some kind of world beater, which to date his performances have not backed up at all.

I agree he looks very classy on the ball, and strikes the ball very well, but that has not in any way so far developed into coherent performances. It might do over time, but for people comparing him to some of the best in the world in recent years is just embarrassing for them.

Of course it doesn't help that Moyes was his manager, and that Utd have competition for his best likely position, but being managed by Moyes didn't stop Rooney looking properly world class at 17 in performances, not just the odd fleeting moment, as Rooney proved with his Euro's display under Sven, another manager that most don't rate.

As for Sterling, he is a very different type of player to Januzaj in terms of style, but as they are similar age and similar position they can be compared.

Sterling has had the benefit of being part of a weaker group so got first team exposure earlier, but this season he has excelled with consistent performance, not just fleeting moments, in a high pressure title run he was one of if not our best player. That is some going when Suarez and Gerrard are in the same team. All this while playing at the tip of the diamond for the first time in his career.

Januzaj has quality and I am sure he will have a good career littered with great goals, but to date only one player has looked like a consistent top drawer performer and that's Sterling.

Van Gaal has a great reputation with young players so many next season Januzaj will explode and prove the hype, I wonder if he doesn't though what the excuses will be next summer?

I don't think anyone is saying he will be as good as Ronaldo. The point is, the OT fans know that he is a bit special - just as they did with Ronaldo.

If you had actually watched him play this season, you'd know that he is a talented player. So why you expect him to go the same way as Macheda is beyond me. Unless you are on the wum. Which we all know you are. Don't get all prissy because you've had that pointed out to you.

i did not compare him to macheda. you are the tool my friend and a blunt one. He is more skillful than mAcheda doesn't mean he will be good enough for United. In that respect of whether he will be or wont be good enough I think he wont and end up like Macheda or any of your other failed youths not just Macheda.
