DJ you're burying your head in the sand mate. Arsenal could really do with having Fabregas. If you need an extra £100k a week I'm sure Arsenal could find that by jettisoning some players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly.. I dread to think about the boards reaction if we fail to sign WC players after allowing Chelsea to strengthen themselves lmao..

Theres quite a few players freeing up wages. easily have about 280k freed up. Erm it would go a long way to providing a chunk of the wages..
If it goes 100k over than so be it.. Quality comes with a price.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We also gave Ramsey, Kos and Cazorla improved deal as well.
You need to look at the bigger picture
The bigger picture seems to be they this "war chest" as such is a myth. All Arsenal transfers depend on champions league qualification.
Would laugh my nuts off if Arsenal fail to get into the champions league
Nobody was complaining when we signed Ozil last Summer. Why? Because he is a proven world class player. We aren't Barcelona, Bayern Real Madrid etc who are in the position to turn down world class players that want to play for us. Opportunities like that seldom come about.

People talk about us signing a top GK, CF, DM, RB as if it is fact. Were we not meant to sign a top DM and CF last Summer? If we have so many options in midfield why did we spend all of January courting Draxler? And why did we sign Kallstrom?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This. That January window cost us a real go at the league title. People are forgetting how many injury prone players we have lmao. Didnt Ramsey play the full 90 mins when he returned from injury? thats how thin our depth got too at a point.

Absolute rubbish. Just because I am not throwing a strop about Arsenal not buying a player in a position we have lots of depth and a couple of top class players already?
And how many games has Kallstrom played?
Currently, we have more pressing concerns than signing a player who couldn't wait to leave us three years ago.
Obviously, Wenger messed up by not signing a proper holding midfielder last season. He should have done so. As he hasn't, it is one of a few areas where we need to strengthen first. Should Fabregas still be available, it would be interesting to see what Wenger would do.
Anyway, as they say, you should never go back.
Arsenal's accounts detail that the 'war chest' is not a "myth"
I'm not sure why so many fans are expecting Arsenal to spend every bit of their cash reserves. That's not how it works. You should know that.
50P in fickle shocker, has been crying for Cesc to come back for 3 years, now that we are turning him down, he was never that good anyway.

No ones asking them to spend every bit?! We need astute replacements for RB, GK, CDM and ST positions. Fabregas is a world class player that shouldnt be passed up on..
Anyway, as they say, you should never go back.

Wenger has re-signed quite a few players recently.
Anyway I believe with the emergence of Ozil and Ramsey, we don't need Fabregas. BUT at the same time it will be a bit crap if he goes to a rival. Too often Arsenal have over looked important areas. I hope this season they can address the areas we need to improve on. Ozil on his day is as good as Fabregas at making goals, and Ramsey is arguably a better player now.

This isn't football manager. This isn't the end of the transfer window. We have to tend to what we need most first.
We need to spend big money on a CF. That's it. We don't have have to spend massive sums of cash on DM and RB to improve us, there are players out their who are available for reasonable fees in those positions and would still improve us. As for GK we can just get some experienced GK who we could get on loan or for less than £1M.
Really you have to laugh at people thinking we are going to spend huge money on 4 separate positions in the squad, we will more than likely spend £20M+ on 1 player and that's it.
The only reason why some of you are losing your heads over this, is because Chelsea are the ones in for Fabregas. Your emotional attachment to Fabregas is affecting your judgement.

If Fabregas' position is not a priority or need then why did we spend all January courting Draxler and Di Maria in the window before that?

Exactly lol
a goalie less than £1mill...unless you're buying from championship, that ain't happening.
A good right back on the same level as Sagna will cost at least £15mill. A top class proven DM will cost at least £20mill. Then a striker will cost about 30mill.
As for GK we can just get some experienced GK who we could get on loan or for less than £1M.

And then if Szczęsny (whom btw is our only keeper right now) get injured we would be screwed with an average keeper, which could cost us the league or any cup we are in.
