Religious schools promote segregation and difference based on belief.
Ban religious schools, make children go to schools that teach you ABOUT all the religions without teaching it as a fact and then let them make their decision when they are old enough to decide.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you overstate the influence these religious schools have over the pupils' future beliefs to be honest. Although I did read an article in the Daily Mail which agreed with you entirely, so now I'm undecided....
Everyone drones on about Palestine, what about the ethnic cleansing of non Arab Muslims in Darfur???? The west nor Arab Muslims give a monkeys chuff about black Muslims getting slaughtered in the thousands.

No I watched and listened to Ahmadinejad speak (live) at the UN. He implied that Israel should be wiped of the map. Nothing to do with interpretation.
-----------
Ahmedinejads comments were loosely translated very loosely.
What he actually said we the state of Israel cannot /is unable to / struggle to - survive.
This is in part true, as without the hundreds of billions of dollars it received in aid it wouldn't have survived.
Think about that, hundreds of billions of dollars to promote and protect an ideology (Zionism) when people are starving to death in the world.
No one can convince me that in this context the creation of the state of Israel was the best thing those resources could have been used for.
Thereby those holding Zionist views, pushing for it, lobbying for it, (bribing) and in the end killing for it are absolutely selfish to the plight of the rest of the world.
There was no need for Israel to be created bar the whims and wishes of those with Zionist visions.
That ja606ers is the truth.

Yeah i suppose the heat got to my head a little bit
Sometimes we should just accept that different cultures are.....different......so as long as we make sure to teach what other cultures believe in every school then the tolerance of the children should hopefully be better.
I was barely taught a thing about Islam in school, which gave me a confusing view of it when i was growing up.
Egypt have only closed there borders and have nothing to do with the blockade.

Yes but Egypt to open their borders to allow transportation of food and aid into Gaza to ease the suffering. I do agree though that Israel should remove the blockade, but I'd assume they probably need assurances..

In the past they have refused to acknowledge Israel but they now know that's an idea that will never work. All they want is there own country which is not governed by Israel.
If they have mischievous plans they still won't be able to take on a nuclear power backed by the US and UK. The other Arab nations have reluctantly accepted Israel and so will Palestine.

Exactly - That's why all schools should teach children what other people believe - And i know someone said it should be up to the parents....I say 'tough'. You might not want your child being taught what other cultures believe....but the child deserves it. Deciding to teach them one thing without telling them what others believes leads to narrow-mindedness.

Or instead of trying to compare stuff all the time just agree that there can be absolutely no justification for the killing of civilians, which in this discussion is taking place in Gaza/Israel?
This debate kind of sums up the main issue (we're all guilty of it) - Too much talk, too much political point scoring without anyone doing a fackin thing to help the people affected.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why? Most Arab countries don't support Hamas.Only Qatar seems to be funding them now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The thing is. they have to work together for once..
Bottom line is that Hamas could end this tomorrow but won't recognize Israel and instead, like a petulant child continues to cause issues, this time by abductiing and killing 3 kids.
Israel exists, they need to deal with it and move on, Israel has shown in the past that it is happy to just exist without grief, when it gave back the Sinai peninsula after Egypt attacked after refusing to recognize Israel.
Muslim nations signed some pact in 1970s saying NO in Khartoum, No to any recognition.
It is not in dispute that Hamas uses human shields to protect its rocket launches, what is Israel supposed to do, just let those rockets rain down forever?
The blood is on Hamas hands and nobody elses, they have the power to end this, not Israel.
