1. If you want to highlight the pedant, you need to look back at the Liverpool fans on this thread. The comments relating to Gerrard on the right weren't particularly important, yet they've been seized on because some people seemingly get offended by the suggestion he played there.

The manager - the guy that told Gerrard where to play, clearly describes him as a right sided player that season.
He goes onto say that he cuts inside and scores, but doesn't hit the byeline.

Because the point about Gerrard being a complete player was made in response to a point about him being played in multiple positions because he wasn't good enough for CM.
