"No he wasnr, and robbo wasnt capable of the perfroamnce keane gave against juve in 99."

I'm guessing you didn't ever go and watch him at Old Trafford. Daft comment. You could take the Barca 3-0, the semi against Liverpool or any number of unbelievable performances from Robbo.

I don't know who'd be top depends what sort of player you like, if you like a tempo controlling midfielder player like Scholes would be top. Scruff of the neck Mid people like Robson and Gerrard would be right up there and a beats who players would try and avoid Keane, Viera and Graham Souness would de the tops.

I always liked Seedorf myself loved watching him play

...............

This is quite possibly the most ill thought out comment I have ever seen in this forum.

The FA Cup final in 1985 immediately springs to my mind.

Vidic yeah he was great in the match, we played with 10 men for most of it against a great Everton side one of their best.

================================

That was no Juve in 99.

And everton did not possess the midfield of Zidane, Davids and deschamps.

I think that the younger fans who didn't see him in his prime severely underrate just how good Robson was.

Stretty's just an unhappy young lad who wants to find a way to assert himself somehow. Online is his medium to get his frustration out. He's got genuine opinions and some have fair merit, but he's so needlessly aggressive and stubborn you just imagine a poor kid who needed better role models growing up lashing out at the world to feel strong and validated. Honestly, no word of a lie feel sad for him. Condescending as that is.

Nothing agressive about my previous post.

are you gonna be ok?

A lot has been said about how good Souness was but to be honest any clip I’ve seen of him is just him trying to hospitalise an opponent. Was part of a very good Liverpool team but how good a player he was I’m not so sure. Only people who watched Liverpool in the 70’s and 80’s truly know
..................................................................................

I watched plenty of him. Was in the Anfield Road end when he scored his first goal in a red shirt against Utd. Cracking volley.

He was a superb footballer, in every aspect of what you want from a midfielder.

He could pick a pass, he could dictate games, he knew were the goal was & of course he knew how to put it about.

He ruled midfields up & down the country in the late 70 & 80s. Was also in my opinion our greatest ever skipper.

For me personally he's the best box-to-box midfielder I've seen from these shores ahead of Robson.

Not really? Im genuinley concerned for your well being, you seem to interpret things in completely the wrong way however.

Each to their own of course.

But some of these listings are laughable in my opinion. Souey holds his own against any of those names mentioned.

To dismiss him as '& the rest' is embarrassing.

He didn't give the test in midfield battles through the late 70s & 80s he was the test.

Souness was indeed immense, Major, hard to choose between him and Robbo as club allegiances get in the way.

Dirty though.

posted on 6/8/14

That's fair enough TPNM. I respect that as Robson was a superb player.,

When you get him being wrote off though by stretty as basically a mile off the likes of Keane then that's ridiculous.

By the way Souey was a dirty bastaard at times but I remember Robbo sticking the boot in quite a few times.

He wasn't shy put it that way!

Are you suggesting keane wasnt a superior player?

Stretty, life's about opinions, there's no correct answer here, just what people remember and think.

Keane was a marvellous player. Robbo and Souness were better for me.

I think that he is suggesting that there isn't a huge gap between them.

I am yes.

Keane was a cracking player but Souness was a better all-rounder for me.

He was a dirty get but that clouds some peoples judgement. He was a tremendous footballer.

His performance in the semi-final of the 84 European Cup in Bucharest was one of the great displays in the competition to date.

He had soldiers, police & the whole ground wanting his blood after he right crossed the skipper at Anfield. He put in a motm display that night.

Like I say as good as there's been for me.

Whiteside used to make McMahon hide from him.
