I don't believe any other defender in the Premier League apart from perhaps Kompany could do a better job for Arsenal than Koscielny.

................

Terry, Cahill, Vertonghen, Shawcross, Brown, O'Shea all better than any of arsenals CB's.

That's without out me being biased by throwing in any of ours.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you on the wind up? I'd take Terry over Mertesacker, but that is it.

posted on 18/9/14

Actually, I would take Vertonghen over Mertesacker as well.

AFL if you can't see how poor he was on that Immobile goal then I give up, because you're clearly ridiculously biased

................

Of course I am on the wind up, you don't think I am taking an Arsenal fans comments on his defenders seriously, do you?

Saying that Brown and O'Shea are better at defending than your two CB's. They just don't have the pace any more.

I really have no idea why you clowns over rate your players so much, when all the available evidence tells you they are not all that much.

You need to give up because you're wrong, simple as. As I said, he could have forced him out wide, but that is it.

To be honest, I shouldn't take other fans comments on Arsenal players seriously as they are so obviously affected by how Arsenal fans rate their players.

You're right AFL, a striker who isn't known for his pace ran directly at Kos, beat him, and then put it in the back of the net. But koscielny was at no fault for it

posted on 18/9/14

Kos was all over the place for that goal. I don't know why you can't admit it.

Or was it Wenger and Arteta's fault?

posted on 18/9/14

I happen to think he's a good defender, by the way. But Arsenal fans have a blind spot when it comes to him.

posted on 18/9/14

For the last time, while Koscielny could have pushed him out wide, a failed chop gave Immobile the yard that he needed to score. He pulls off the chop, Koscielny likely comes away with the ball.

If Evans did that exact same thing you'd criticize him for it, and so would I. It's incredible that you can't see that

Rooney averages close to 30 goals most seasons and is always among the top of the assist charts. No, I wouldn't. Any defender would have been beaten by that bounce. I would criticise a defender for passing straight to the opposition in their own box though.

I'll be the first to admit that Koscielny has his faults, I explained them earlier in this thread. Immobile's goal, however, was a freak piece of luck.

posted on 18/9/14

I'm not even talking about the bounce. Koscielny' side of the pitch was a gaping hole when Immobile picked up the ball. Who knows what Kos was doing on the right side of the pitch 2 seconds before that. He should've covered his area but instead he let the striker drive 50 yards at him before beating him and scoring.

If that's not poor defending I don't know what is

posted on 18/9/14

Mourinho and his CBs probably had a great laugh at that goal

The question that anyone should be asking was where was Gibbs? He was too far forward, which left Koscielny with a ridiculous amount of ground to defend.

That was obvious, but any decent CB would cover that. Instead Koscielny wandered over to the right side of the pitch leaving absolutely nobody on his side. It looks even worse in the replays

posted on 18/9/14

Yeah I'm done, you'll never admit Koscielny didn't defend very well in these situations, and I have no idea why

I'll come back here in a week or two when another "freak piece of luck" happens
