you should definetly try The Pipeworks
- its lovely inside and a great welcoming atmosphere , no kids allowed either
I always leave with a smile on my face
Di Maggios in royal exchange square is always a safe bet. Good food and nice restaurant. Right beside Social for drinks. Or Zizzi's, which is also in royal exchange sq. Wee bit pricier but if you like Italian(like me) then it's a good bet.

Like the sounds of the hotels
Chaophraya sounds excellent. Love Thai grub and would be happy to eat Japanese or Brazilian too. I’m hank now after reading their menus! The boozers sound good too. Cheers NNH appreciate the suggestions
I wen to Ingram Wynd a wee while ago in the Merchant City and it was lovely. Really nice steak.
Was at a steak restaurant in London last week, cheapest steak was £32 was fckin lovely though
If I were to pick for you then it would be:
Grant Central to stay, dinner at Chaophyra (best restaurant in Glasgow for me) then Home is always a great night and a good atmosphere, One up is more of a club but also very good

Iv never really stayed in a hotel in Glasgow as I live there so never really went elsewhere, but dont imagine you will have problems on this front. Might be an idea to try and book now though, as accommodation goes quickly especially if Still Game is on. I had a couple of mates up from London on a Tuesday night a few weeks back when the Killers were playing and everywhere was booked up, so I would move quite quickly if you can.
Restaurant - again plenty, but La Bonne Auberge might be good if you like Scottish & French as you say, and they do a good pre theatre. If you like seafood The Mussel Inn is also good, or take your pick of Italian restaurants.
For drinks, Merchant City is always good and Bath Street is still busy with a good vibe so you wont go wrong in Bunker, Mosquito or a new place I was in recently which I liked called The Howling Wolf - got a sort of Orleans/Blues/Redneck theme going on with the music and atmosphere with a good selection of beers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice one Smid some great suggestions so much appreciated. Howling Wolf sounds good. I plan on booking the hotel today
RnR, I'm going there for my Xmas team lunch, was it good?
I got a few steaks in Portugal, best one was the wildcracker fillet... fillet steak marinated in a chilli and soy sauce overnight cooked rare served with Sautated potatoes, mushrooms and garlic butter, was absolutely terrific and only €24

Haha knew there would be some wide comments so you haven’t disappointed. Search engines are wonderful things…
Incidentally if you do go to the Thai place, I recommend the Asian sharing platter to start, it has crispy duck salad, satay chicken, prawn tempura and honey infused pork, the duck salad is the pick of the bunch
For main I got the weeping tiger, sirloin steak sliced and cooked in a chilli sauce on a sizzling hot plate, comes with onions and peppers and then you get a wee pot of chili drizzle jam to pour over it as well, also get the sticky rice
I'm flooking starving now
Aye mate, it's very nice Proper traditional Scottish restaurant. I got haggis to start and a sirloin steak(medium) was brilliant
Your steak from Portugal sounds immense
Best ones are always on holiday and good price

Cheers mate and she loves Italian. I'm not too fussed as I can cook that myself. I enjoy eating food I don't normally cook
If its not a steak your after then you cant beat pigging out on Tapas - La Tasca is probably the best one in glasgow imo -
A beer and a red wine ( each)
Oil n Bread
Olives
Cured meats sharing platter
patatas bravas
some Gambas Pil Pil
and various other meat dishes
quality
Went to a random Mexican place in London too and got Fajitas for the first time in a while. Was immense, plate was massive!! Last time I got Fajita's was in TGI's here and they gave me 3 tiny tortillas, with a sprinkle of cheese and a tiny blob each of salsa, guacamole and sour cream, with 5 wee jalapenos. Was fumin, pure piish
the only thing that puts me off going to 'Chaophyra' is that i dont know how to pronounce it
Not a fan of Tapas tbh, sometimes they aren't enough, and you just want a full plate of dinner in front of you!

RnR, it's right next door to Hard Rock Café
CT I know it's a flooking nightmare, it's hard enough spelling it never mind saying it.
Me and her went and with the sharing starter and two mains, one rice, few cocktails the bill was around £100 so not overly expensive if you add in I think it was 4 cocktails
Café Anduluz is an amazing Tapas, you been there CT?
What about the wee Italian Pesto? I believe this is closing down in Glasgow sadly, not sure why, great food and always busy
One of my favourite dishes is in Wagamama's, the Yaki Udon, delicious More of a lunch place though.

when we go to these places we just order 4 dishes each and wolf it all down in one sitting
