tcd - i can still see you!
c'mon tcd, man up and explain yourself. Hahahahaha
Yer teams went tap and yiv spent the day moaning about Celtic
He was eligible to play in the league, that is what the work permit is for. The Visa is to work in THIS country. He was registered to play for rangers by the SFA.
+++++++
Just admit you don't know what you are typing about...as should, Ishy
He was registered to play for Rangers in time by the SFA.
This is why we win the argument, GIRFUY Maribor, Bring it!
But he wasn't eligible to play domestically...ie, his Visa hadn't been processed.Which, if the rule is to be read properly, he shouldn't have been registered by your neeburs at the establishment
If Rangers were stupid enough to field a player that was ineligible then I doubt Maribor nor the relevant authorities needed the e-mail from a Celtic fan to investigate this. Personally, I doubt that they were stupid enough to risk it. And there's been plenty of wee campaigns from both sets of supporters over the years, highlighting each others faults for the world to see. This is nothing new.

"But he wasn't eligible to play domestically"
He didn't play domestically
I have just this minute, looked at the OP's link
Can you prove the authenticity, that this was on KTF's website???
I believe some Bluenose has made this up
He didn't play domestically
+++++++
Yes, we do know that...the reason being he was ineligible. The rule(if you've bothered to look at it)says that to register the player, he had to be ELIGIBLE to play domestically.
He wasn't
Harvey - SFA confirmed he was deemed eligible to play not the Gers
sad part or the norm is the bhoys once again going out of their way to attempt to drag Gers good name through the mud, concentrate on your own team bhoys, infact no carry on - makes 4IAR all the easier and sweeter

The player was eligible to play for Rangers under SFA rules as his registration had been processed. He was not allowed to play against Motherwell because of visa problems which was nothing to do with his registration. No case to answer.

No he wasn't, or he would have played.Visa or not, he could not and did not play.Which according to Uefa...is illegal
Yes he was. He was eligible to play domestic football. By eleigible it means that he had completed the registration with the club & the SFA, obtained his work permit and was good to go.
That the UK Border Agency had not granted him his Visa to enter & leave to remain in the UK is a completely different matter, nothing to do with football authorities or clubs.
tcd - so that makes me 'beelin'?
No, he was ineligible...he didn't play..end of
It's not whether he was SFA registered here, it's whether he met the criteria to be registered for Uefa's competition, ie...he was eligible to play in his domestic league.
He clearly wasn't
And how the SFA can register a player without knowing if he will get his Visa...is beyond me
He WAS registered to play in the domestic league. Just because you say "end of" does not make it so.
ALL the paperwork required to register the player had been completed. He had a work permit. He was a registered Rangers player.
That much is fact.
He did not have his Visa to enter the UK.
That much is fact.
But as others have said, it is clear that the UK government is nothing to do with football registration.
It is also clear that in the most extreme example, had a domestic game been played in Europe, he would have been able to play.
He just could not enter the UK.
That's it.
to quote you "end of"

Why was he not eligible, Jessy?
