I haven't seen a single post on the entire thread where anyone has suggested that it's OK for a man to force himself on a woman and as regards defending his actions, most seem to be suggesting that the basis for conviction seems to be shaky at best.

If he's guilty then he deserved to be locked up for the full 5 years but once he's served his time he deserves the same chance that anyone else would have to go back to work, the fact that he's a footballer is irrelevant and the press and the morally outraged should leave him to get on with it.

Weirdly, if he was a paedophile he would be entitled to a degree of privacy.

I've just viewed the CCTV footage from the hotel, if she's too drunk to give consent or to have any idea what's happening, I'm Lord Lucan.

I very much doubt that Evans has personally had anything to do with hounding this woman, for a start he's been locked away for two and a half years and he would have to be incredibly stupid to get involved personally. If others are hounding her out of a sense of loyalty to him he can't be held responsible for that.

I don't think the police are necessarily at fault but the CPS need to have a good look at themselves.

To be honest what I have read about the actual court case raises more questions than answers.

Sorry, was I supposed to answer? You are so virulent in your defence of a convicted rapist I thought it pointless to answer. It's all very easy saying the police got it wrong, the girl lied ... he was convicted of rape.

As for the other stuff - do a google search. This is a light version but there have been other stories about Ched Evan's website and his family too.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2807965/My-plea-star-raped-daughter-Stop-claiming-innocent-s-destroying-family-Ched-Evans-victim-silent-father-speaks-devastating-effect.html

My comments are no more libellous as those faulting the 19 year old victim. Ched Evans is not a victim here.

It's not just the Daily Mail,

http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2012/nov/05/ched-evans-rape-naming-woman

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/theyre-trying-shame-her-rape-4453258

there are many many more. And yes you are defending him. I'm afraid I am no more libellous than you and maybe even less so as I am repeating things that have gone through courts already.

I am far more likely to believe what gets passed from the police to the cps, then found correct by all 12 jury members and a judge than by some amateur sleuths making excuses for some awful behaviour by a pampered football player.

I don't think that people are necessarily making the case that Evans was innocent, more that on the known facts it is absurd that 2 different decisions have been reached for the 2 accused.

I also believe that to deny having any knowledge of the night is not strong enough grounds to be convicted on, especially where the defendant isn't even accusing anyone of rape.

It gives a very confusing message.
