First of all I don't think he's guilty. Even if he is, he's served his punishment and should be allowed to play again.
Being Welsh,and in Oldham..............prison ain't that bad?
Don't bring big Dave Dicko into this.
That mans Teflon coated.
Or is it Cuprinol ?
First of all I don't think he's guilty.

Based on what ?
There does seem to be a campaign against him,by political people, let's say.
We are all hypocrites too,as thousands of offenders are given second chances in society. Why single this boy out?
Edbo.
I agree mate, I think he's been bloody unlucky and there but for the grace of god etc ... There can't be many blokes in the country that haven't indulged with a drunken woman at some stage.

He is allowed to play but no-one wants him at their club.
He could go and do any job he wants.. it's not as if he's banned from working. Try a normal job Ched

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has served half his sentence in prison but is serving the other half in the community. As such I think an unrepentant rapist who is still serving his sentence should be restricted in the type of work he can do. Personally I don't think being a footballer and as such a role model for children is a profession he should be allowed to do. Once he has completed his sentence then there should be no restriction.
Sheff Wednesday some Maltese club and Oldham all wanted him but in the case of the British clubs they're being forced to back down by sponsors.
Clubs rely on sponsorship, and the good will and support of their local community.
Once you employ a rapist, these two things might suffer slightly.
As Bales said, go get another job.
They're being forced to back down by sponsors cos fans are signing petitions against him.
It's a very lucrative job, people pay lots of money to follow their team, by their kids shirts with names on the back..
Of a convicted rapist
I'm sure he's perfectly capable of working 9-5 like the rest of us.
He hasn't served his full time. He's on liscense or something.
I defnitley think the media attention is over the top. It's not his fault his profession is a footballer which happens to have a high media interest. If he was in most other professions apart form teacher or health worker, he'd be able to get a job in his old profession after serving his time without all this attention. If he did commit his crime, obviously it's horrendous. But he needs to be allowed back into society eventually and be able pay the bills, just like anyone else. So he needs to work. And he probably isn't really skilled in any other area other than football.
He should consider moving abroad for a few years and playing. That's what I would do. Not sure if the terms of his license would allow that though. Failing that, maybe drop down to semi pro for a bit. If he does that the media should really stop hounding him.
Well, Lesley Grantham couldn't have been more visible in EastEnders and nobody said he couldn't earn a living in his chosen proffesion.
As for playing abroad, I believe the Maltese thing fell through because he can't work outside the country yet.

Nobody said Ched Evans can't either.. well, apart from the law and fans not happy at having a rapist turning out for them.
Would you take him at Spurs Harrys? Assuming he was good enough.
And he probably isn't really skilled in any other area

There's lots of working people who were skilled in their jobs for decades, but through no fault of their own, lost those jobs, and were forced to retrain to find work.
He's young, so has plenty of time to retrain, and find himself a new job.
Probably got a decent amount in the bank to allow him the time to do that also, as opposed to most people who are binned off from their previous proffessions.

Bales.
If he was good enough I would be happy to have him at Spurs and I don't think all the people signing up to these online petitions are necessarily fans of the teams involved. Oldham getting 20,000 + signatures would seem to bear this out.

Well said Ace Face.
Media circus around Evans now.
Wonder how the girl/victim feels?
Footballers role models? Experts at cheating, trying to get fellow professionals banned or sent off, cynical fouls to win at all costs...yes I suppose they are role models. I honestly believe that there are elements of the community that will not be happy until he is flipping burgers in Macdonalds. I don't know if he is guilty or not, but he has served his time and I can think of few employment opportunities that he could have which would not have any contact with children or women. Let him do what he is good at, otherwise we will end up paying his social security benefits for ever more.
