French you are an utterly vile individual.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Admin, I'm not here advocating that the police go out and kill innocent people, or anyone in their custody.
I do however oppose violence against innocent bystanders and people using this as an excuse to tear apart people's livelihoods..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
According to the law you are innocent until proven guilty.
So based on the law, this individual was innocent, right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As are all the coppers you are accusing of murdering innocent people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do not believe I have accused all coppers of murdering innocent people.
I certainly would like a policeman to explain why he had to kill an unarmed person running away from him.
Do you think that is right?
The Baltimore Sun did a good article on it last night.

There you go french.
There is something very wrong with the training of police officers in the US. These events happen all over the place.
Need to sort it out
its not the first time the people of Baltimore have done this though.
they did it in 68 when MLK was assassinated.
why destroy your own city, it makes no sense whatsoever.
why is it that the people that use the terms "black community" in the same sentence want everyone to be treated equally?
just the term black community is a form of segragation and suggests that different races should be treated differently.
it is in a similar vein as feminists wanting to be treated equally but still expecting things to be carried for them or doors held open for them.
Furking grow up!
if you see someone being racist then call them out on it.
honest peoples businesses and livelyhoods are being destroyed because of a few shi77y cops!
Carron Morgan, an 18-year-old cousin of Gray's, said the violence Monday was "not what my family asked for."
"This is not justice. This is just people finding a way to steal stuff," Morgan said.
and this is coming from a family member of Gray

If you ever get the time watch some of the reality cop shows that are filmed in the major cities.
Once you have seen those, you will revise your opinion.
"why destroy your own city, it makes no sense whatsoever."
There will be some that feel that vitriolic about it that those kind of thoughts go out the window (Along with a new 40" Sony apparently...). The majority is opportunism mixed in with it.

Bit late on this thread but read through and not one person has noted what I think is the real problem.
GUNS!
There have been a few cops who have obviously done the wrong thing. They deserve to be punished and severely due to the position they hold, however, last thing I read on the matter was that nearly 50 cops were shot/killed in the US in 12 months. If all the developed countries in the world, being a cop in the US must be the worst. When little toddlers are killing their parents in Walmart and we are having the 16th anniversary of Columbine, every perp has the potential to gun you down, I can only imagine it is a highly pressurised and stressful job 100% of the time.
There is obviously some problems there with race in certain places but there is something like 3,000,000 people in prison in the US. That is 1% of the population.
Get rid of guns, like most western countries have and many if these tensions will subside is my take on it. Check out the comedian Jim Jeffries on it. Facking funny, yet so intelligent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Right. Well I don't think guns had anything to do with this particular case, to be fair.

Err what do you think an internal investigation is for. He isn't exactly going to come on National TV.
What also makes me laugh is your repeated use of the words innocent man. How do any of us know if he had or was about to commit an offence?
Why did he have a knife?
Why did he run?

South Africa is one of the worst places to be a cop I would imagine or El Salvador. Cops there have to cover their faces for fear of reprisals personally or against their families. Don't get me wrong I take your point. Traffic violations can lead to deaths of cops and perpetrators because of the strange legality of firearms in the US and the prevalence of it.
There is definitely a strange social and cultural phenomenon in the US though. Canada actually has more legal guns in circulation than the US but has no where near the issue with related gun crime and murder (but fack it is too cold there though to go out and shoot people

Some states like California have got their officers wearing cameras and it helps a lot.
We need to be careful and not generalise. There are some phenomenal police officers and there are bad ones. The bad ones need to be rooted out.
None of us would get away with some of the stuff they did. We cannot have separate laws for people in one society

My use of innocent aligns with the laws in the country. Innocent until proven guilty, right?
Why did he run? I do not know, is that why his neck should be broken? Or did he break it himself as well as his windpipe and ribs?
I agree with the guns thing and have had multiple debates with my American mates about it. The police know that there are over 300 million guns in circulation.
Throw in some prejudice and stereotypes and you can easily see what happens.
