Injuries really haven't helped in Sturridge's case though

Liverpool's most disappointing player has probably been Lovren
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lovren has shown much improvement, Baloteli has been consistently crap.

I like the post, Chronic. Good question - and relevant and fair for fans of every club.
1) I would have to go for Schurrle. After his world cup winning performance I really thought his confidence would be sky high, and he would make that right wing position his own. He is a better finisher than most wingers, but he just faded completely after a good initial couple of performances. He saw the writing on the wall, and decided to leave to get game time elsewhere. Too early to judge Cuadrado just yet - although I may be saying something similar about him next year.
2) Lots of options here, but I would have to go with Yaya Toure. One of the best players in the league last couple of years - but just a lazy passenger for much of the time this year.

By the way, for all those Arsenal fans trying to include Fabregas in the list of "most disappointing", I would suggest you merely sound disappointed that he didn't go back to Arsenal. Nothing about his play was disappointing - even when he wasn't getting assists (largely because of injury and suspensions to Costa in my opinion) he was still buzzing around making the Chelsea team tick. Constant movement, excellent passing, and one of the best players in the league. You guys just sound bitter I'm afraid.

Di Maria hasn't been great by any means but he has the second most assists in the league...

At Arsenal: No one. I support them all. Every player have good and bad games. There is no one at Arsenal of who I would say "I am dissappointed". I am sorry for Gnabry who was hit by serious injuries which stoppend his development.

Outside Arsenal:
There are a few. Not suprised that Balotelli didnt pay off for Liverpool. Suprise surely is Di Maria, Falcao who I both rate but something going on with them. Kompany has been awful, Bats is right with Fabregas. He began the season really good but since December he has been completely average at best. Didnt expect that. Nasri, Dzeko, Navas utter dross.

I'm sure it's been mentioned but

My team - Balotelli

Other team - Falcao

Most disappointing for Spurs is a fairly easy one for me. It's Lamela. Hoped he would have adjusted to the league by now and become the player he was expected to be. Hasn't happened.

Outside of Spurs I'd say Barkley. Hasn't lived up to any of the hype around him.

I can understand why some would say Balotelli because he's been abject but I'm also not hugely surprised. Don't get me wrong, I didn't think it would go this badly but it was always a risk.
I genuinely didn't think Lovren was a risk: a defender with EPL and international experience who had looked dominant for Soton. Thought he was going to be great but has been far from, that's why he beats Mario to biggest disappointment for me.

Other teams: ADM
Falcao was always a slight risk due to some bad knee injuries and Yaya's birthday hissy fit last year hinted at problems there. However, I thought Utd had brought a top player at the peak of his powers and he started like a man possessed. Since Septemer it's just been bizarre.

Di Maria it hurts he's on nearly everyone's flop list. I really hope he stays for one more season and ups his game, a talent like that can't just regress like that.

"Di Maria was for a month too... Over the season, they have been dreadful though"

I couldn't disagree more to be honest given the context. To me, he has shown he has a huge amount of potential.

Ramsey

Falcao or di maria

1. Fazio....I knew of his many limitations beforehand such as poor reading of the game, poor pace, clumsy however I at least expected to inherit a leader to which he has failed on that front too. Simply not suitable to the English league sadly.

2. joey Barton....I am convinced the media are scared of old joey. Every game he plays it should be a 5 out of 10 does nothing in the game gives the ball away a lot and shouts at teammates like he is the beacon of all things great. Overrated piece of rubbish.

Balotelli.....shocking, absolutely shocking performances from an international player. No urgency on the pitch and he's so lazy.

Might be a fun guy but football wise hes a disgrace.

-------------

Adebayor.......useless player fir spurs, another one who is highly talented yet wastes it. Too often doesnt put the required workrate in....fkn waster.

Lovren - Although to be fair in the last couple of months he is starting to show that he may have settled. His performance level has cetainly improved. Balotelli is the obvious choice. He's been a disaster, but I never expected much from him.

Falcao - Given his profile (and the expense) he has been dog shiite.

..........................

Depend on what you were expecting from a player who had recently recovered from a serious injury.

A lot of United fans, like myself, didn't know what we would get, 'bonus' if he was a hit and 'oh well' if he was a miss.

Sadly for him his injuries have affected his pace, so he was a miss.

ADM on the other hand has been very disappointing.

Lovren

Not so much him becuase I knew he was Shîte before he arrived, how on earth did we ever think of signing him?

Other teams Falcao : completely washed up ala Torres

In the Spanish League (I live in Barcelona) - most disappointing is Mandzukic of Atletico - has just not filled even one of Costa's boots.

For Barça - Raktic- Who in their right mind replaces Cesc or Thiago or Xavi with Raktic?

In England, by reputation, Di Maria but I think that's largely Van Gaal's fault.

But by total failure, it has to be Balotelli and Falcao. Terrible waste of time and money both. Don't tell me United wouldn't have been better served by Hernandez and Liverpool by any other striker.

posted on 13/5/15

I think Balotelli's failure is largely Rodgers fault. He's no lone striker yet Rodgers kept trying to make him one out of stubbornness

There is actually some mileage in this argument.

Lumezzane 2 (0)
2007–2010 Inter Milan 59 (20)
2010–2013 Manchester City 54 (20)
2013–2014 A.C. Milan 43 (26)
2014– Liverpool. 15. (1)

Now we all know the problems he brings to each club but he does get goals. He's done nothing since he came here and going on previous form there are other problems going on other than Mario himself.

Rakitic has had a good season xiue, I rate him higher than Fabregas and think he'd be great next to Matic for us.

1) Hard to say, a few spurs players have disappointed me massively this season such as Capoue, Kaboul and Vertonghen. I knew that Dembele and Townsend were garbage anyway so it's no letdown.

2) Falcao by a country mile. I heard from afar that he was prolific at Porto, then I saw how deadly he was at Atletico. He picked up his injury in January, so I thought that by about November he'd be fit and firing and scoring for fun. I was genuinely excited when he joined United on loan and immediately stuck a fiver on him at 33/1 to be the top scorer.

posted on 13/5/15

I've really only seen Rakitic a few times and it was in the last couple of months

I thought he looked quite good

Falcao then do Maria.

Falcoa has been beyond terrible. Can't believe this guy scored 50 goals in a season once upon a time.

In the league, mangala, expected a lot better of him. He's been poor

man city should have kept de jong.

don't see that Fernando or fernadinho are any better.

de jong is exactly what spurs need tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Isn't he a free agent next month

And btw Chronic, the biggest disappointment at QPR was old 'Arry himself!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He didn't disappoint, he's crap anyway so I expected him/them to be shocking this season. Barely scraped through the play-offs after finishing about 15-20 points behind Leicester and Burnley - then goes and sets a league record of 11 straight away defeats. Embarrassing
