Sterlings our third best player after studge and Phil
But he's a class player with a lot of upside potential
Losing him will be a big blow
I think we should keep him unless someone bids 45mil
Make him earn his move like Suarez and Ronaldo did. Fertile proved keeping a player as a slave can work.

Yes don, they really are
----------------------------------------------------------------------
really?
because i could have sworn that kane has jsut scored more goals in a season, at the age of 21, than sturridge has ever managed at the age of 25.
kane was linked to united for £45m the other day - ok, a silly figure, and i don't believe for a moment that united will pay that, but how much would sturridge go for do you think? not going to be anywhere near that.
as for eriksen and coutinho ,well one has 50 caps to his name, whilst the other has generally played second fiddle to oscar. eriksen has scored more goals at a worse club - twice as many goals in fact this season - than coutinho.
Sorry to make you type don
I thought that was in response to me saying cout and studge are better than sterling. They are
It's really tight in the Kane Eriksen. I still think they shade it but very debatable

ha, don't worry, like many on here typing away on ja606 saves me from having to do any actual work.
anyway, you are one of the more sensible posters on here, but i am finding the reaction to this a little amusing....lot of posters frothing that sterling is awful, overrated, dreadful attitude, coutinho/ibe/ojo are all better, so....give us £50m and he's yours.
so i don't understand how the 2nd/3rd/4th/5th best player at the team in 5th can be worth £50m. if i asked liverpool fans who is the best player at southampton and how much is he worth i'd probably hear schneiderlin and £20-25m. tottenham kane £25-30m. united (above liverpool in the table) maybe mata/ADM £30m.
£50m rated players might be sahcnez, hazard, and aguero...and that's it. so sterling is either vastly overrated, a weak finisher, and a bad apple, or he is a £50m player...but he can't be both at the same time!
and i still haven't understood which specific club would want to pay £50m for him.
see...i love typing!
Continho plays a deep role and studge didn't play at all

I can't see Kane going anywhere for less than 45
The market has practically hyperinflated in the last couple of years imo
I think people's perception of player worth is a couple of years out of date personally

It's an automatic reaction to over evaluate a player you don't want to sell. Simple as that. Newcastle did it to us, we were stupid enough to pay it. United did the same with ADM......

another good point, don't know if it is all to do with the new sky deal, but player inflation seems to have been close to 50% cumulatively over the last 2-3 years, and i do think some of us are still living in 2013.

I also think liverpool don't seem to handle their players in public too well, that old saying about never criticising them in public seems to be frequently ignored, everyone from reina to agger, torres, sterling and carroll seems to have copped some flak in the press, and there have then been grumblings back from the player too about their treatment.
which isn't something you see much at arsenal, or chelsea for instance.
