Desperate actions from Liverpool, they've gone into Panic mode, expect to see Balotelli as Captain next season
We're doing what you did with Bale and Modric and Berbatov
We're playing the Levy game
What exactly have Liverpool, Rodgers or the club, said?
He isn't honoring his contract though is he. Every year or so he is coming back wanting more. So how is he honoring it!
As for losing 70k a week since March. I am sure that would be more than made up.in 6 months in his new contract. And u forget it is the agent who will be a beneficiary as well with the bigger contract
Terrible, baseless nonsense. I'm taking legal action.
No No the next captain is Lambert, O dear you certainly don't keep with the news do you
I am not sure that Liverpool have handled this as badly as some make out.
Let’s be clear, the contract offer they made him was a fantastic offer. The truth is Sterling has followed some terrible advice from his representatives, who, when all is said and done, have little interest in his development as a player, nor his best interests but how much revenue he can generate.

I am not sure it has anything to do with money, my feeling is that Sterling does not like living in Liverpool and would simply prefer to play for a london club like Arsenal or Chelsea, for all we know one of those clubs might be the team he grew up supporting, his family are based there.
So look at it from his view, he can get 100k+ from these clubs, he can live in the city he wants, and he will be joining a team that has a more realistic chance of winning a major trophy.
Any of us in the same position would most likely do the same.
100k is a great off that 99.9% of players would accept at the age of 20. Personally i think he wants out from Liverpool.
Hes seen the massive decline this season (which hes been a part of) and is now think he would be better off somewhere else. I really think he wants to move to Arsenal.
Theo Sterling swap looks on IMO.

Even if he had no intention of remaining a Liverpool player he could have signed a contract extension (with a commitment to sign elsewhere/leave the club) to ensure Liverpool were able to a least attain market value for him.
The comments from Aidy Ward today are embarrassing.

Swaps are generally something of a myth to fill the gossip columns. Very unlikely imo.
Apparently Ward said, but didn't say, that Chelsea was his most likely destination.

I meant about Sterling and his contract situation.
OP reckons the club are in the wrong. I'm wondering how?
All I can recall is how br said he is a great kid really loves his footy and trains well. But his agent was not good for him. That is the only negative if you can call it that was said.
The way some people on here are talking it seems people at the club are holding a shotgun to Sterling's head forcing him to sign.
All Rodgers said was that we've offered him what is an incredible deal for a young player (Is it? Yes.) and this is the best place for him to keep developing (Is it? I'd say so).
If winning medals from the substitutes bench is what he wants then fine that's his decision and he will probably ending up leaving. Can't see anything wrong with what the club is saying though.

it's turned out right what BR said then
And what are these dirty tactics the club have employed you mention. The one where journalist ask ex pros their opinion . Are you implying the club has called each ex Liverpool player and non Liverpool player like learn matt le tissier Charlie nicholls Rodley marsh harry redknapp to say bad things about him.
I'm glad that Sutton stuck up for Raheem, what's wrong with showing ambition and wanting to compete for trophies...
Surely we should praise a player for caring more about success than a good wage packet?!

He might think differently but surely he should realise that at the age of 20 he should be more concerned with his development as a player? The guys got 15 years to win trophies.
If he truly wants to win trophies now though and doesn't believe we can offer that then I guess that's down to him but he is going about leaving completely the wrong way.
