Just finished watching Better Call Saul the other night.

Fantastic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I finished it a couple of months ago, the writing is so, so good. Howard's situation still makes me sad whenever I think about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That half-season finale was jaw-dropping.

Agree about the writing. The pacing is brilliant too. And some of the cinematography is so artistic too.

Chick and Jimmy's relationship especially was so well written, both of them had genuine grievances with each other, it's hard to pick a side.

The pacing was very slow at times for me, that's why I struggle to put it up alongside breaking bad. But the writing more than makes up for it.

Agree about the cinematography.

I actually love how it slows at times almost to a state of stasis in which everything seems to revolve around what isn't said or written - it wouldn't hold up if it wasn't for the acting, but Odenkirk and Seehorn are brilliant.

Without that, I don't think it would be possible to convey just how much these characters struggle with their inner demons.

Blarms, if you haven't done so before, both I, Claudius and Claudius the God are both fabulous reads.

CK was honestly was one of my fave shows from start to finish.

I think it helped that the actual quality was never that high, but genuinely enjoyed it a lot the whole way through.

It was absurd at times but worked because it was so entertaining. Also think this was one of the most satisfying finales I've seen.

I thought it was fairly poor CGI, the lip syncing was pretty poor, but the overall feel of the scene/flashback was excellent

Not bothered at all. Prefer MI and the original Bourne trilogy to Bond.

Interested to see who they'll cast for it though. The ATJ rumours seem to have gone cold.

I’m kinda in the same boat. Although I would say spy films are pretty far down on my preferred genres in general.

As said on the other thread they want to give James Bond the Rings Of Power treatment

If they give it the Disney Star Wars treatment, god help bond…
Now we’ll see spin-offs…I can see it now.
The Quartermaster: Major Boothroyd.
