These 19 made my top 100 the last (and final) time I did it, that weren't in the previous edition:
Vampyr 1932
The Wizard of Oz 1939
Meshes of the Afternoon 1943
Bicycle Thieves 1948
Little Fugitive 1953 (NEW)
La Pointe Courte 1955
Bob the Gambler 1956
Elevator to the Gallows 1958
Pierrot Le Fou 1965
A Touch of Zen 1971
Badlands 1973
Mirror 1975
A Short Film About Killing 1988 (NEW)
The Heart of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse 1991 (NEW)
Saving Private Ryan 1998
The Master 2012
Apollo 11 (doc) 2019
Whitney Houston: A Concert for a New South Africa (doc) 2024 (NEW)
NEW means added because I watched it for the first time since I last did the list.
These were the ones that dropped out from the previous version:
The Roaring Twenties 1939
Mr Smith Goes to Washington 1939
Casablanca 1942
Leave Her to Heaven 1945
On the Waterfront 1954
The Bridge on the River Kwai 1957

Lola 1961
L'Eclisse 1962
For a Few Dollars More 1865
Blow-up 1966
Mean Streets 1973
The Killer of Sheep 1977
Homecoming 1984
Withnail & I 1987
Days of Being Wild 1990
A Moment of Innocence 1996
Frances Ha 2012
Embrace of the Serpent 2016
Which do you think is the stronger list?
Btw, these ones just missed out both times:
Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans 1927
The Passion of Joan of Arc 1928
M 1931
Rome, Open City 1945
Le Mepris 1963
The Godfather 1972
Chinatown 1974
The Godfather Part 2 1974
Jaws 1975
Il Postino 1994
Pulp Fiction 1994
Roma 2018
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t know how to rate your lists because I have no idea what the criteria is for each other than the year.
i've done a list of what i think are the 100 greatest films..
the last 2 times i've done it, 81 of the films have been in the list both times.
the top set of films listed above was the other 19 which made it last time.
the next set is the 19 which made it the previous time.
the bottom set is films which just missed out both times.
i'm currently reviewing a few of the films in those lists to finalise again the final few places. i'll get this done today. i anticipate making maybe 5 or 6 changes from the 19 floaters which made it last time.
Sorry to have to break this to you, but the 1865 version of For a Few Dollars More is fake.
You're going to have to start all over again.

although i earlier pretty much dismissed it, i'm coming back to
- he died
- she ODd
- the dog stayed by her side or couldn't get out
in fact I think that's starting to become clear now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How did the dog die though ? Thirst ? Don't think there's anything in the reports about the dog being trapped in a room with her.
Apparently both his and her body were in a state of decomposition meaning they'd been there for several days or longer. Did they not have any friends or family ever calling or checking up on them ? They must have been recluses.
Been watching Mo recently, it's great.

she's in the heavens pal, with the other angels.
I did actually have her 1994 concert movie from last year in there, but decided ultimately it was untenable.
It's in my 200 though.
The Bodyguard rivals Return of the Dragon as my favourite terrible movie. I like it, but you have to acknowledge it's crap. She was great though of course.
