This guy planned this shooting for 6 MONTHS. If anti depressants are responsible for this murder then we would all be dead within months.

But prescription drugs can and do make people think differently.

Of course this guy is the first the blame, I'm certainly not looking to make excuses, especially if the attack was planned and plotted. I'd assumed he lost his shít and had a mad moment.

At a time when we don't hunt for food and in a country that isn't at war on their own grounds, I cannot understand the logic behind allowing machine guns and automatic guns. Those a weapons of war, a standard handgun can protect you perfectly fine, but there seems to be an obsession in America with being macho and "defending" yourself. Maybe they all expect some kind of Alien Invasion.

• Eric Harris age 17 (first on Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 (Columbine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado), killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and wounded 23 others, before killing themselves. Klebold's medical records have never been made available to the public.

• Jeff Weise, age 16, had been prescribed 60 mg/day of Prozac (three times the average starting dose for adults!) when he shot his grandfather, his grandfather's girlfriend and many fellow students at Red Lake, Minnesota. He then shot himself. 10 dead, 12 wounded.

• Cory Baadsgaard, age 16, Wahluke (Washington state) High School, was on Paxil (which caused him to have hallucinations) when he took a rifle to his high school and held 23 classmates hostage. He has no memory of the event.

In 1920 a black community in Tulsa (full of black millionaires and mansions) was invaded and destroyed by jealous white people. It's citizens were lynched and burnt alive whilst properties were looted and burnt to the ground. That was one of many incidents against the black community over the last 100 years...

Are we to say that is not terrorism? If so then, what is?
If that act in 1920 was terrorism then so is this, it's the exact same political agenda, met with the same violent act, in the same country.

No Busby, the reason why I made the comment about the muslims is that what they do is counter to their faith.

I would not consider Breivik a Christian as well.

The right wing groups take responsibility for their actions.

A few are already mocking the senator that died and are happy his seat is vacant.

From the get go they have called it a suspected hate crime so how is he not a criminal? If a black person went in and killed 9 other black people of course it wouldn't be called a hate crime because they are the same race so obviously it would be analysed differently. This guy is going to get the worst punishment possible, no doubt about it.

The media quit reporting those facts when they found out they could blame a gun instead of the drugs or the shooters.

Makes one wounder how many so called journalist and reporters use Prozac?

TOTALLY agree that doctors are to trigger happy when it comes to prescriptions and they often know little about what they are prescribing. On the other hand, they can have a very positive effect on the patient and it could be argued that the drugs had prevented him from doing this sooner etc.

I don't think you're wrong, but my point is by the media presenting this information it creates a narrative in which people look for excuses or explanations other than that this guy knew exactly what he was doing.

We don't even know for sure that this guy has a pschotic mental illness but now we're blaming a doctor for something they may or may not have noticed, that may or may not exist.

This thought process and presentation of information does not happen in every case of terrorism when it is reported on in the US media.
