Still have an opportunity to stretch our lead if City and Liverpool continue in the respective comps.

We might need those points in case we don't do well in Europe next season.

Yeah, this thread will be a thrill a minute next season. Gonna be interesting to see what shape leicester are in, whether they've been able to hold onto the stars, strengthen etc. Their tight defence and direct counter attacking could put them in good stead in the comp.

Well done City & Liverpool Saving our 4th spot in the CL.

No one sat next to this keyboard wants to congratulate teams like City *spit* and Liverpool *spit* however well they may have done (that is as good as its getting )

They are however interested in our chances of catching up with the Germans....

Tbf Arsenal outscored every Italian team bar Juventus, so we did our part.

They just like to mock your repeated later stages exits DJ without taking into account the solid point work you guys have done over the years.

West Ham and Southampton were the real drain on us. Add to the likes of Hull and Birmingham, the minnows really haven't played their part.

I hear what your saying DJ, I'm supporting United for the FA cup too

In all seriousness as nice as it is seeing smaller teams winning prizes (or doing well in the league) it really is worth counting the coefficient benefit of them not doing so well.

Swansea took it seriously, think Stoke gave it a decent crack as well.

Fulham did well a few years back also. Probably longer than the five years that count towards it though.

Ahh they were in the back of my mind, knew we'd had a smaller team do well in it sometime in recentish history.

Arsenal came in at a respectable 22nd in coefficient points earned this season, just ahead of Gent

Middlesboro got to the final about 10 years ago. Got thumped.

Yeah I remembered the Boro one, can't help but feel standards have raised in the EL in recent years.

What, are you trying to say the likes of Stuart Parnaby and Frank Quedreue might have been out of their depth in a euro final

Wasn't that the middlesboro season where they were assured of staying up, so in the league game prior to the final they rested all of the first team and played the u21's. Think they set the record for youngest ever team.

then got hammered 4-0 in the final. Steve McLaren

TBH I was trying to think of it but got confused with what I guess was the season after when they made the FA cup final but got relegated, or was that first time they were relegated from the prem?

This time it’s real! Do Leicester, Spurs, West Ham and Arsena et all have the bottle to take this one to the Italians?
