That's not right, this is the ranking as it stands.

Germany - 71.320

England - 69.159

Italy - 65.439

where'd you get that from? The Uefa website has the numbers DJ posted.

England won 5 and lost 1. So 5 wins x 2 points = 10 points.

10 points divided by 8 teams = 1.25 points gained this round.

Previous score was 66.8 + 1.25 = 68.05

Given my rounding to 1 decimal in the OP, this is the same figure as DJ and UEFA.

Also, Russia just keep on keeping on. Lyon losing home and away to Zenit has really screwed the French up.

Port = 48.75
Fra = 47.249
Russia = 47.082

Thats a 0.167 point gap in the race for a third champions league place.

Lyon and CSKA are both bottom of their champions league groups. If Lyon don't get at least 3rd, the bonus points of qualifying for the knockouts, or the additional points from Europa could have a huge bearing on this one

This has added City's bonus points for qualification. It's always up to date, more so than the Uefa website.

Russia have also overtaken France as Zenit's bonus points for qualifying have been added.

Up to date sites do when the teams have qualified.

Slow ones like the Uefa website don't.

no. Someone's website is less incorrect than Uefa.

Stop acting like the spazzy wee kid who wants to go to college at 14 years old so studies ahead of the rest of the class day and night.

I'm not. I just always use that site as it's always correct.

The points don't get added until the group stages end.

Adding ones here and there does not give a balanced review.

The end of game day 6 is when this thread might actually get interesting. Boooom extra points left right and center. We can't be cokteasing just yet

Also...glad to find that spazzy is an accepted word on here.

I wonder if the players and managers actually pay any attention to the coefficients at all. In a few weeks Rubin kazan and Bordeaux will be playing in the Europa. It may be a dead rubber in terms of qualification, but something as seemingly insignificant as that game could end up having huge consequences for both leagues.

the chance to get that quarter or half point that could ultimately decide the destination of a champions league place, investment in clubs, health or an entire country's league....

Doubt it very much, tbh.

yeah me too I suppose. But it'll make a nice story to eb able to pin point the decline of the French league in the future to one moment in history when a Russian and French team played each other and the coefficient points being decided by a moment of brilliance or sheer idiocy.

Is it obvious that I'm trying to bring some excitement and drama to what is essentially a glacially slow stats race?

Wake up Uefa, I want my coefficients

Website hasn't been updated since wednesday, and I have no interest in Darren's fancy pants numbers with the group qualification bonuses already added.

I could work it out myself....but I'll probably feck it up. But it does look like much of a muchness between England and Italy.

What I will say is that Russia is all over France right now.

3 wins and 2 defeats this week, compared to Frances 2 wins and a draw looks to have given them the edge points wise.

They both have one team each that has qualified in the Champiosn league and one each that looks to be on their way out of europe all together (unless CSKA beat PSV).

In the Uefa, Bordeaux are gone and Monaco are in trouble.

For Russia, only really Rubin Kazan look to be in a bit of bother, but can still make it through.

So, Zenit look the business this year. Beating Lyon home and away is helping Russia creep closer to the extra CL place.

Rubin Kazan vs Bordeaux will be a statistical blast in a couple of weeks. A win for Kazan will of course secure a few fractions of points, but could also see them creep into the KO stages of the Europa.
