I don’t understand how anyone can put mando 2 above Andor.

It can only be for the Luke fanboy scene as the rest don’t come close to how good andor is

It's because Mando 2 was aided by the great foundation built by season 1. Season 2 took those story threads and continued to develop them to the point where the stakes were so high, that it had me engrossed until the end.

Andor season 1 has been tremendous but the finale was anti climactic and it felt like an unfinished story. Season 2 is where the show has the potential to really achieve greatness.

Mando had a lot of filler episodes where andor always felt like it was building a story and pushing character development.

The writing is second to none

Mando season 2 is also a far more SW friendly show overall. It has good story, great characters, lore, fan service, music, space battles, solid action sequences and stakes.

Andor has terrific dialogue and story and character development but it doesn't have the vast array of strengths that Mando has.

Mando season 2 took everything from season 1 and delivered the ultimate pay off. It nailed the landing.

Andor season 1 has set things up perfect but it needs season 2 for these story threads to get their pay off.

Yup agreed, that’s where I’m at with Andor.
Season 2 will play a major factor into season 1’s legacy.
But it will always remain at a high rating, no doubt.
But as it is right now, it’s unfinished.

Felt the last moments of Andor were rushed.
And the one slight I have with it, is now looking at Syril khans arc… I mean, in the end he didn’t really do anything. I thought it was building him up to be this great adversary to Andor.
A man so driven… but felt like he was eventually wasted, but let’s see what they do with him in season 2.

And I’m thinking it’s not gonna have time for the slow build, if we are to have major time jumps.
So that’s what Season 1 was for… and season 2 goes, crash bang wallop.
Maybe….

If Luthen and Mon Mothmas story doesn't get a satisfactory conclusion in season 2, it tarnishes everything that was set up in season 1.

Andor season 2 has the potential to be the best live action show on Disney+ but time will tell.

What's the name of that bounty hunter guy (not Boba) that was in Mando? That scene with him and Timothy Olyphant was a standout for me.

Tbh, I think the Luke scene being iconic has overshadowed what was a superb series. Not perfect obviously, lord shows we could have done without the frog woman, but characters like Fennec, Boba, Gideon, Bo-katan, the dark troopers - all great. The conflict of the mandalorian tribes, how Mando is shunned, a fighter without a really sense of identity, and the quest for dark saber - again, all great. The episode getting into the mine to find the location of Gideon’s ship was at least the equal of Andor’s two action episodes on my opinion.

Personally I think the final episode is fantastic throughout, just exceptional build up. I’ve posted about it before so don’t want to just repeat it all but it’s so much more than just the pay off.

I thought Andor was tremendous and I’d have it as number 2 in live action rankings but it was definitively set up, a series that leaves intrigue and questions.

I find it difficult to compare live action to animation. How do you compare 133 episodes of clone wars to 8 episodes of Mando 1 or 2? The worlds will be richer, characters more developed etc

I said before I don’t class clone wars as a Disney+ show as it wasn’t created before.

Yah, fair point made. Can’t be comparing Animation to Live Action shows.
But I think we have to line them up together somehow, just because they are very much linked, and cross over.
When you saw `Cad Bane in Book of Boba, yer mind just races back to Clone Wars.
When Ahsoka mentions Thrawn, you think Rebels.
