Yeah I don't think they've retconned anything, they just took a choice with their story telling. A choice that right now seems like it hasn't been brilliantly executed but I think there's a lot more to come from the episode.

I came out with a lot of questions, feeling fairly engaged, so there is hope. I fully expect the questions I have to not be addressed or answered in a way that doesn't make sense.

Wow 8 minutes into The Acolyte episode 3 and I'm already done. I don't even think this is the "controversial" part. This isn't Star Wars anymore. I hate it here.

I think we are getting worked. The story is defo not what we think… the Columbo instincts in me smell a rat..

Agreed.

I think there's a good chance they've shaaat the bed but I do think it's too early to tell. It feels cheap and not that Star Wars-y as a result but I think it's too early to really tell with the story.

Too early, sure. But I’m doing the plot filling, making up stuff that could be a possibility, and this could all be a swerve in the way they dropping the Episodes.
This should’ve been the first Ep, or later on down the line... they drop this now.

Honestly not sure what the fuss was about. Was it a crappy episode, yes, much worse than the first 2, honestly a 2/10 for really nothing happening for almost an hour. But the spin, Leia running away, the barrier, and hiding a kid under a cloak much much worse IMO. However, will wait until Sat as maybe I missed something

Watched episode 3. It's sh*t but I don't really understand the big controversy. I could guess at it but it certainly isn't obvious to me.

Total waste of an episode though.

I think most of it is due to SW good grace that they gained from Mando has gone.

after numerous failures back to back now the fans tolerance levels are not there no more and therefore the show is getting zero benefit of the doubt and fans are just fed up with the low quality with no signs of it improving.

There’s so much material to go off but most modern shows simply don’t develop characters well enough nor overarching themes.

This was why Game of Thrones was so successful because it developed so many characters and gave most of them really good arcs.

When I watch most modern stuff I’m like ‘wait who died? Who is that again? Oh…ok’

Is there a lack of self-awareness? Like I cant understand how any Star Wars fan lets Mando 3/BoBf/Ob1 and now Acolyte release...........who is greenlighting this sheite?
