RDD if migrants (asylum seekers, refugees, immigrantscommit crimes, they go to jail and get deported. We have laws governing this.

The only time someone is not deported is if his nationality cannot be determined. He is then locked up in a detention centre

So let us reason for a sec. After all the hassle of coming here, why would they blow it?

That will also scupper their alleged IS plots. Don't you think?

Regarding IS plots, why have we not screened every French man and Belgian coming here or closed our borders with them? After all, they did commit terror attacks and we know they are all the same, right?

Mud - can we deport asylum seekers from Syria if they commit crimes?

Yes they can be deported back to Syria if they commit crimes.

3 cases, wow. That says a lot.

So, they should have been deported but the govt failed to do it, right?

posted on 5/1/16

Mud. - I dare say there will be more cases if you were to look.

Yes some of them SHOULD have been deported but they were not and many go on to commit further crimes with the officials unable to explain why they were not deported.

Sort of discredits your theory that those that risked there lives to get here wouldn't dare risk that by commitiing crime doesn't it.

It really does not. They still have a record and when it is time to renew a permit, or if you travel you could get arrested.

Not sure how these anomalies stand against rhe 10s of thousands that get deported

Tell that to the victims of these crimes committed by people that have no right to be here mate.

Wow, are these 10s of 1000s all deported for committing crimes?

Forget the odd case where they dont get deported for another day, if that many are comjitting crimes, we need to start having a word with ourselves.

If they havent been committing crime s forget I spoke

That is the govt's fault. No one elses. Considering the govt has a history of protecting criminals and sx offenders, I'm not surprised

Not for committing crimes, I was speaking broadly about all deportations.

Red Devils Double - I've read through this article and the many comments.

You seem to be unsure of your ground when giving your opinion and want the reassurance of other posters that you are in the right. It's a forum of opinions, so it's a mistake to assume someone will be 100% right.

Also, I have to pull you up on your point about takeaways in Birmingham. You wanted to make a point about finding one that's not advertised as halal... I'm sure you can find thousands.

From the top of my head, Nando's in the bull ring isn't halal, around the corner from the bull ring there are a wealth of chinese and Thai places that aren't halal. Broad street opposite the casino Jumping Jacks and all the way down there are.

I really don't know what point you're trying to make with the cuisine served up in Birmingham. You want there to be a government directive to have a set quota of kosher, halal and non-halal eateries? How about for vegetarians and vegans too seeing as we are talking about dietary requirements.

Simple economics - demand and supply come into play. There's no dark agenda to halal eateries, if there is enough custom to vindicate their presence, they will exist, otherwise they will fail as business and go to the wall.

Explain succinctly what your point was in wishing people luck in finding one that's not halal. If you will?

Redinthehead - I didn't say there was any dark agenda. I didn't say anything derogatory about halal takeaways. I didn't say I wanted government directive. Point was there are an awful lot of halal takeaways in Birmingham. Would you agree???

I also didn't want anyone's assurance. I was right. Henry wouldnt accept it hence me having to labour the point.

posted on 5/1/16

Awful lot?

Considering supply and demand economics, there will be the right amount of halal eateries.

Do you get my point?

But you did go on to say you want a selection of kosher, halal, etc.. so how would you do that? Planned economics?

Only thing I saw you labouring on was trying to get VC to say you were right.

You failed.

The most rational post, as is often the case, gets all but completely ignored. But good to see Red Russian post again in any case.

MUDD, although I agree with you here, and often do on the 'off-topic' threads, it's interesting to observe that you appear to pick your targets. You'll happily go after Robb at any opportunity (even when he's right, eg Jose), but when VC shows some level of support for Donald Trump and advocates the murder of 2000 youths... Silence?

posted on 5/1/16

Yes redinthehead, an awful lot when compared with non halal or kosher takeaways.

Re your point on supply and demand, are you suggesting there cannot be too many of anything?

And what I said was all people should be catered for. Do you disagree?

And I didn't fail. Both VC and Henry agreed that we cannot deport all asylum seekers that commit crime.
