Moving off is easy - the clutch employs a system that increases the revs very slightly as you lift it, making it difficult to stall. The pedal itself isn’t as light as many other small hatchbacks, though, and the gear shift, while reasonably precise, requires a bit more of a shove than the likes of a Skoda Fabia.
.....
The amazing thing is despite only a few lessons with Corsa I found that very accurate. I found the Corsa so easy to drive due to clutch it was like it was on autopilot mode. Then I went into 208 and the clutch is so flimsy to push forward and back you need a greater deal of control and you have to put more throttle in so it doesn't stall although it took a few lessons to get used to everything being competely different. Also the steering was much worse on 208 as well The way I saw it was if I can drive a 208 one of the worst cars to drive then I can drive pretty much any small car.

The only reason I kept having lessons in 208 instead of going with another company was due to thinking if I can drive the 208 then their surely can't be any worse car out now to drive. Also the 208 is so light but the 1.2l petrol has virtually no power so all it means it is it lacks acceleration but the lightness despite bad steering compared to corsa you can throw it in more. Its so loose handling so if you are skilled its good, if you are not skilled then its dangerous. Luckily I am skilled and sometimes I go slightly to quick through a roundabout or turn but my steering control means I can keep it placed perfectly. When I say quick I mean 30mph throw 45-90 degree corners.

Liverpool 1st Man Utd 20th in distance covered. I actually find it funny under LVG we used to be the most pressing team in the league and had highest territorial possession due to gegen pressing but they trolled us for negative football. Especially at OT yet only 1 game out of 29 matches last season did a team outshoot us. I think we even broke some record for territorial possession last season at home. We scored 3x more then we conceded as well the best ratio in the league. LVG Man Utd reminded me a bit like Rikjaard 08 Barcelona side look amazing but struggle to score and pundits troll them like the manager is a clown.

I found this funny as that was the game we created the least chances at OT in many years but scored most of them and it was the only game all season probably the opposition had more possession and more shots then us at home out of 29 games and our least territorial possession.:
Squawka.

Manchester United’s one genuinely excellent performance of 2016 was at home to Arsenal just a few weeks ago. In that game, at the heart of everything, was a high tempo and plenty of risk. With van Gaal likely to protect his back four with two holding midfielders, the easiest way to implement this kind of pro-active tempo is through the fullbacks

Ruiney are you gna make the live thread tomorrow or shall I fire one up?

posted on 11/10/16

I wonder if I get one of those harsh examiners or one of the ones that don't notice everything and are laid back Just found theory test certificate and have provisional so don't have to worry to look for them tomorrow. Anyway it could be my last day with my Provisional.

What's your least favourite manoeuvre hafi? I could never do parallel parking, just hoped they never asked me to do one. Mastered it now after 5 years of driving but it's definitely still the most difficult.

posted on 11/10/16

My favourite two manoeuvres are emergeny stop and turn in the road. I think reverse around a corner is next easiest. I think parking into a bay and parallel parking is a bit luck on day. Sometimes you nail it and sometimes you don't. I have been told that you can correct it. I will make sure observation is done so stop when a car comes unless they are waiting.

I am bricking it now Just realised how important it is to nail it. £112 worth at stake £62 for driving test and £50 for lesson and chance of passing first time. Luckily I got a small 208 and the clutch requires very little effort to push in and out. I just hope I don't get so nervous I start to shake, especially on my foot. I think best advice for me is to just think of it as an important lesson with instructor or I am taking someone important and have to drive perfectly as they are important.

2 hours 9 minutes to go

how you feeling? Come straight back on here when you've done it. We'll have a party.

You must be nervous. I was on mine.

posted on 12/10/16

Not nervous anymore. At least I got ready early and paid for lesson yesterday and have theory test certificate and Provisional ready so don't have to worry about that. Lesson is at 11.40 and test is at 12.38. I think it takes around 20 minutes to get to test area so will probably have 20 minutes of practice before going to test center early.

To be honest I am calm because I think the driving test is easier for me then theory test as all it is driving which I am good at and not remembering random things like Supertrams or Light Rapid Transit (LRT) systems are environmentally friendly because: answer is they use electric power.

I got that one right in my theory test as I revised it last minute. Now when I drive all I have to remember is pretty much speed limit and mirrors and just some signs. Show me tell me as well isn't as stressful as theory test.

I failed 5 minors and 1 serious. Serious for being in 2nd lane instead of left lane when I went straight ahead. If I took 3rd exit instructor said I would have passed even though instruction was straight ahead. I thought I failed after 2 minutes first roundabout a car came raing around and slowed down due to me but I accelerated quick. I thought that was a serious in first 2 minutes and after that I was in panick mode. I was expecting fail after that but to know why I failed is annoying.

My instructor didn't realise I did left reverse slightly bad and I got a minor although she thought it was fine but I knew I was about to touch kerb slightly and moved forward slightly then back after a gentle touch that could be hardly felt.

posted on 12/10/16

I meant reverse around a corner not left reverse and racing not raing.

It was on Stanground roundabout.

posted on 12/10/16

So Hafi, you're a failure then.

I always suspected but you have been gracious enough to admit it so

posted on 12/10/16

To be fair I failed on something I rarely got wrong. Even instructor said that was the first time I have ever done that. To be honest I was panicking after 2 minutes after first roundabout.

posted on 12/10/16

Worst thing is their was no cars around. I wish they gave a minor for that.
