It's only to disprove the theory that you have better local support than United. I'm starting to wonder why you and Liverpool share a special bond with each other, you're both incredibly deluded.

8,595 15/12/98 Darlington FA Cup

Fookin' 'ell, I know it's Darlington, but what was the capacity of Maine Road at that time Boris?

posted on 26/2/16

Not sure, I'm sure there's a United website that'll tell you and possibly give you the names and addresses of those who attended.

You must know, Boris, you're an expert on the percentage attendance vs capacity with United and you don't even support them.

Come on, what was the capacity when you got 8 and half thousand in the FA Cup?

Maybe they were all saving up for the big derby v Stockport County.

Boris, you do realise that this thread was started by a City fan, don't you?

Can't help you, I wasn't even in the country at that time.

But you must know - look it up or something. It can't have been much over 9 thousand by the looks of it.

Ask SE85, he'll probably have it on his database.

Lots of building work going on at the time.

They were building the foundations for a spectacular assault on League 1.

Maybe the Main Stand and Platt Lane had been knocked down as well as The Kippax.

There's got to be a reason why you can get 50,000 now and only 8,500 for an FA Cup tie then.

Help us out here, Boris.

Yes, it was an ironical thread in answer to the hoardes of rags we get on our board rattling on about empty seats.

I think it's gone well

Why did you only get 29,000 against Wimbledon when your ground held nearly 60,000 at the time?

Maybe we were under military rule and there was a curfew.

He certainly got you lot to bite.

Oh dear... not done your homework here (hint: rebuilding)

Now then, you still haven't told us how you can get 50,000 now and only 8,500 for an FA Cup tie before you got bankrolled.

Will the OP kindly put up a similar article for our next Europa League tie?

lol out loud at United and their shiiit attendances

You do realise we were in the 3rd tier of English football at that time and the FA Cup wasn't exactly a priority.

It wasn't like we were closing stands down for a crucial European game.

But surely fans that only turn up when their team is good are gory hunters? (Or have I misunderstood you all for all these years?)
