Thrilled for Kante - it was a brilliantly taken goal but what was he doing so far forward!?
As for the England boys, thought Drinkwater and Vardy in particular did really well tonight.
Danny did what he does every week for us - kept it simple, provided an outlet, shielded the back four and broke up play.
It's not pretty and he's not going to win any Ballon d'Ors, but how many other English players are there who perform that role? I can only think of Dier and Shelvey (Carrick is way past it and too lightweight).
Personally I thought Vardy was the best player on the pitch. Pace, energy, a well-taken goal and his link-up play has really improved no end. The Dutch defenders looked terrified of him all night even though he didn't get an awful lot of service.
He was a constant menace and totally outshone Sturridge. Having said that I do rate Sturridge and think it should be Walcott who stays at home this summer - sadly Theo is no better as a player now than he was 10 years ago.

Carrick is a much better player then Kante. I honestly think Carrick is Englands best ever all round midfielder. I hope he stays at Man Utd for another 3 years and is part of the first team most weeks. Its a privelege seeing a world class player in action most weeks.. Remember at start of season pundits on bbc saying that is surely the end of Carrick now after we bought lots of midfielders but I laughed at that as Carrick is most influential midfielder at Man Utd and is 2nd captain and LVG even says he transfers his philosophy onto the pitch.
Win rate with Carrick and without Carrick last 2 seasons is like winning the title to finishing midtable without him and Carrick most of the time is fit for the big games as well which makes it more startling.
Kante will never be as good as Carrick as that level is hard to get to but if he gets to 90% then he will be right up their with the best players.
You are not 2nd captain of Man Utd unless the manager rates you highly. LVG even thinks his philosophy is transferred onto the pitch when Carrick plays and our win percentage with him shows it.

Carrick only appearance at an international tournament and is England last win at the knockout stage of a tournament in 2006. Since he played for Man utd he has never got in. Carrick was 24 when he last played for England at a tournament.

Kante is class and there is absolutely no doubt about that, none whatsoever. He's like Makelele with pace and will go on to be a top top player. Real Madrid and Juve want him after his less than one season at this level. He's unbelievable.
