Kung Fu - You are in denial mate
Yes Ireland was bombed in the war -
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing_of_Dublin_in_World_War_II
And why has language nothing to do with it? Who says so? These people were sent to a safe, allied country by ship, where the same language was spoken. They did not walk through half the world to arrive in the US.
Again, I have repeatedly said it is understandable they wish to come to more affluent countries instead of safe but poorer countries such as Romania, Hungary and Serbia. That however is a choice they are making for quality of life rather than the need to flee those countries due to war. This is when they become economic migrants rather than refugees.
I have provide dictionary definitions. You however are making your own up. Quite telling.
Flee Syria - refugees
Arrive in Serbia, Hgary, Romania - as refugees
Chose to move to more affluent countries - economic migrants.
http://www.pri.org/stories/2015-09-10/serbian-police-officer-and-smiling-syrian-boy-show-europe-how-welcoming-refugees
http://www.balkaninsight.com/en/article/romania-to-limit-number-of-accepted-refugee-09-07-2015
As for the quote from the Hungary PM, I see nothing wrong with it. He is concerned his country could be faced with islamisation if faced with a huge influx of Islamic refugees. Surely he is entitled to protect his countries identity? He appears to be asking why these people can't be returned to,safe countries they have travelled through. What is wrong with that ?
And I haven't been hypocritical bud
You initially asked why people had gone to Australia and Canada. I suggested because they were safe members of the commonwealth.
You asked why they didn't go to Ireland- I told you they were also bombed.
You asked why they didn't go to Iceland, I offered a reasonable explanation for that. You dismissed it without reason. I assume because it negated your point.
You then asked why they travelled to the US. I offered an opinion on that .
Ultimately, you can call those evacuating Britain during the war whatever you like. It doesn't alter the fact that Syrians leaving safe countries for Better quality of life (understandably of course), are defined (according to the Collins dictionary) as economic migrants rather than refugees.
You keep saying the definition of a refuge doesn't say they have to stay in the fist country they stay in. That's correct. It does however require them to be fleeing war to be considered refugees. They arent fleeing war in Hungary, Romania or Serbia. They are seeking better quality of life which defines them as economic migrants.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
like I said rdd you'll use any excuse to label refugees immigrants.
Going to an INDEPENDENT country that shares a Monarch or a language is a luxury. Like I said you will always have an excuse.
FYI I'm pretty sure I already stated Ireland was bombed several times.
Come to terms with the fact that your logic dictates that British refugees during WW2 were greedy economic migrants.
You should also understand that this bizarre logic is only followed by you and maybe your buddy Farage.
Everybody with an ounce of compassion still call them refugees.
As for the Islamisation quote, he might have a point of Daesh were in the country forcing people to convert.
He was talking about to many Muslims being let into a Christian country which is disgusting. There shouldn't be a limit on how many people can enter a country based of religion or anything else.
You seem to warm to quotes like these though, they are Faragesque and you don't seem to have a problem with him.

Eh? Bulgaria and Romania are already members.
Serbia and Albania are yet to meet criteria making them eligible to join. Turkey are years and years away from getting anywhere near meeting the criteria, and, if anything, are probably getting further away at the moment.
Another benefit the EU offers Europe is politicians in those countries that want to join have to work to improve standards for people living in those countries before they can join. This will mean for people living in Albania and Serbia, for example, greater corporate and legislative transparency, better social support mechanisms, fairer judicial systems, and work on equality and disabled rights.

It's not rubbish at all. Romania achieved huge amounts to meet accession requirements, and it's an achievement all of its people can be very proud of.
You can read the full report below, but huge bounds were made in judicial integrity and consistency, corruption and policing, the management of public funds, public health, livestock health and management, and environmental standards, amongst other things:
http://ec.europa.eu/enlargement/archives/romania/eu_romania_relations_en.htm
I was also in Romania for about a month in 2014 and found it to be an absolutely wonderful place: welcoming people, beautiful countryside, and a strong and proud culture. I'd recommend a visit to anyone.
Just be careful on the roads...
If we leave we can put up any border controls we wish.
Just as the eu can put any tarrif they wish on our exports to them.

The UK will have a much better deal. Border controls will be a must in any future deal if we leave
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that puts a kibosh on access to the single market, and I cannot see the current government or any future Labour government opting out of that.

The Swiss, Norway and Iceland are fine and smaller than us...the eu is a big business utopia, and tohell with the people.
Big world out there beyond Eu/ brussels.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Swiss and Norway have what we will end up with if the country votes to leave: access to the single market coupled with a non-negotiable freedom of movement of labour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doubt it

Another election will be called and it will be put into a manifesto.

"Another benefit the EU offers Europe is politicians in those countries that want to join have to work to improve standards for people living in those countries before they can join."
Hmmmm, I've been to Romania a few times and must say, this is rubbish. Perhaps it's what should happen in theory though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not rubbish at all.

Do you think an election will be called if we vote to leave? It's a possibility, but would require a Tory civil war.
