Home Secretary Theresa May has won the first round of voting in the contest to replace David Cameron as the next Conservative leader and prime minister.
Mrs May, who began the race as the frontrunner, got 165 votes. Minister Andrea Leadsom came second with 66.
Michael Gove got 48 votes and Stephen Crabb 34. Liam Fox is eliminated from the race, coming last with 16 votes.
Party members will choose from the two backed by most Tory MPs, with the winner due to be named on 9 September.
Liam Fox and Jeremy Hunt would have made a great partnership.
Along with Bill Repealed.
Gove did better than expected

Gove is a fking sleaze bag
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We agree again
Hahahahahahaaaa!
Gove got his comeuppance despite his pathetic attempt to get May's supporters to vote for him.
He stopped Boris, i don't think he ever wanted or expected more really, him and whoever else was in on him stepping up last minute

Boris might well have made him Deputy PM and / or Chancellor.
There's no way Gove went out of his way to do anything except be self promoting, considering the odds at stake.
Back benches are over there mate
He's consigned himself to depending on a peerage to be relevant.
Very uneasy with this unelected prime minister business. Didn't like it with Brown. Without doubt, many people vote for a party based on its leader. It should be a general election.

I would usually agree, but with Labour in disarray it would only mean an increased Tory majority.
You may even get a few UKIP from disgruntled Labour voters.
I would rather get the negotiations over first - with cross party input if they wish to, as voters of all parties were Leavers - and have a GE directly after
Andrea Leadsom will be Britains next Prime Minister.
Countries a flucking joke.

Yeah I do not like it myself, but I would rather 2yrs of an unlected May with a tiny majority, than 5yrs of May with an increased one due to the shambles of an opposition
A small majority keeps a govt on its toes.
Not ideal, but I would rather see MPs face the elctorate AFTER the vote to enact Article 50. Again, to keep them honest.
If they block it, have the GE immediately
My heart says GE immediately though.
Although she was Remain, it is probably best May gets it to be honest.

A govt with Corbyn in control will get Britain back to what it used to be.
A country with compassion focused on the rights of all, not just special interests

You talk of compassion yet you voted to stay in a corrupt Europe where the rich get richer and the poor left behind, you couldn't make it up
You are so far away from what a working class labour voter thinks and wants its unreal
Tory lite is what you are
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you explain how the rich get richer in Europe and the poor left behind?
Are there some policies you can identify that have helped facilitate this?
Since we are talking about the working class, can you kindly identify any policies the tory or even the coalition govt have instituted to help the working class as well?
We know how much Europe has ploughed into the poorer parts of this country and how it tried to protect British steel workers from Chinese involvement.
Who vetoed that again? Can you remind me?

Forget leaving the EU, this would be the worst thing to happen in N.Ireland in years.
A united Ireland PM who opposed the Good Friday agreement, has gone to RA funerals and goes way back with Sinn Fein. With a #2 who backed a campaign by bomb, bullet and ballet box and has been medalled by the RA?
Forget the revision of history, there were no cosy chats and rememberance services for Loyalist, it was partisan support for the Nationalists.
Are you suggesting Corbyn will cede NI to Ireland?
