But the fact is that the current climate was not good enough for many people. House prices out possibility to name just one.

One thing I am happy with is that change has to happen now.
...........................................

Big changes aren't the magical solutions to problems.

They made big changes in Europe in the 1930's in reaction to situation people weren't happy with.

the decison, that will affect the lives of the young (who voted a different way)

You mean the old people who over the decades have paid their taxes and helped the country through both good and bad times.
There is nothing new here, the young grow old too and to blame the leave vote on older people is frankly lame at best

Looking at the demographics, it's the pensioners who have taken us out, as predicted.

Hope they're going to muck in to help get the economy back on track...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I was kinda hoping we could just dilly dally on the matter for a decade or two whilst they quietly move on...

Probably unrealistic really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The old people that lived through pre-EU and EU Britain you mean?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The old people who will probably lose the least from this, the old people who have a lot less worries for the future that will be worse for everyone else now...

Those old people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything is just speculation at the moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Pretty sure the markets and sterling are already suffering, its okay the leave campaigners are calling for calm discussion.

I'm not sure the plan extends beyond immigrants = bad and Britain = good, a fine slogan for winning votes but a terrible basis for a plan.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did any of the politicians have a plan? The remain plan was just plod on, the leave plan, erm..... This is the chance for the UK to drive forward or collapse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well the plan was to stay in the EU.

So for example all our trading agreements....

Already made, in fact most of the issues that arise from leaving the EU don't arise from staying in the EU.

The plan with remain was to not to leave and cause all these problems.

The leave plan seems to consist of causing all these problems and them umming and ahhing and figuring out how to solve them after the fact.

Its madness quite frankly.

Yep, we're bound to see a big investment in house building as Sterling crashes through the floor...

ofcourse the old gets who did this, have the least to lose from leaving the EC

someone should remind them this is 2016, not 1946

I really don't see how costing us millions and making the economy suffer is going to eradicate all these problems people are having.

Unless your problems consist of too much money, too many jobs in your area or too much money in local services...

I'm not sure this is going to fix any actual problems but it will certainly cause many.

Scotland and N Ireland may want to remain in the EU, but will the EU be as attractive without England and Wales? I reckon the EU will collapse, as more countries will opt out.

britain leaving the EC will cause another depression similar to 2008

well done

posted on 24/6/16

I never ever thought this would happen, I thought those vocal about Brexit were the vocal minority like in the Scottish referendum.

It is kind of depressing how immigration - the only ticket the leave voters ran on has had this majority.

Wait until the market opens.

For feck sake!

it will quite likely cause the break-up of the UK, as N Ireland and scotland have a true legitimate claim for independence now

I think it's more likely other countries will see what happens to the British economy and do all they can to shore up the EU.

HSBC and Standard Chartered shares lose 7% already. FTSE Futures down 9%.

The only people who will be deported are the refugees and immigrants that have done something wrong. There's over 13,000 criminals in this country we've been unable to deport due to the EU. Now they can feck the right off.

Those who voted leave deserve to suffer a major recession.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, they are likely to get it.

Early signs are not good at all. Speculation that the Japanese government have *already* intervened in the currency markets. They have declined to comment when questioned on it.
