The market was already improving as the day went on. It shot down this morning as they all bet on us remaining in the EU and when we voted.out quite alot of them lost millions maybe even billions in the space of a few hours.

Before people start calling this a recession leave.it for a week or 2 before running your mouth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, leave it for 6 months. If there's sustained negative growth for that period then it's a recession. Otherwise it's not.

But it doesn't help.when the doommongerers in the Remain campaign talk down the economy

I can assure you that the words make perfect sense, the sentences coherent

Was this deliberately ironic?

No, but I've retained my sense of humour.

Some people really need to man up and accept the vote didn't go their way. We voted Leave. It's final. No going back. Dry your eyes. Pick your petted lips up from the floor and move on. It's a great day. It's Independence Day.

I've seen both sides of the coin - in & out the EU. Being outside is imo far superior for the prosperity of a country as strong as Britain

Tut tut Esc. I didn`t, because I have no plan to go back to the UK, so don`t see why I should take part in deciding their future. (Actually missed the date to register by about 18 hours ) But the sentiment remains

You dont have to go back. We all have ties one way or another. Family, investments and just basic patriotism

Leo, just be on the phone to my cousin in America. She is convinced, that Trump can`t win. Keeps shooting himself in the foot, remaining topical.............sadly.

Hope she is right.

And yet they've had to agree to all this:

And have to pay to get this deal, without any rebate and without any say in the EU.

I think perhaps our problems are more to do with our government and their failings, and less to do with the EU.

I reckon Trump will win it hands down. Clinton is an impressive pilitician and person with immense experience. But the sentiment of US public opinion mirrors that of the UK and they see Trump as a guy that can deliver change for them and look after their best interests first and foremost. He is very devisive but his frankness clearly strikes a chord largely because its free of political spin and vested interest (as he's funding his own campaign)

What Switzerland pay to access the single market is a drop in the ocean. Their ability to dictate yheir own laws and control their own finances is key to good governance. You only have to see the services and infrastructure here, despite taxation of only 7%, to realise how successful they are. Low taxation. Low crime. Tiny unemployment.
