And I asked him to clarify. Which he did. And I explained why I asked. End of.
VC, what I'm saying is that the woman's point about that name is irrelevant. BET, unlike the KKK for example (which doesn't have "white" in the title), doesn't seek to attack, endanger or otherwise be racist to white people does it? You do realise that sometimes black people are carted out to provide these views? I'm willing to bet my bottom dollar that she's either Stacey Dash stupid or was told to tow a line.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stacey Dash is honestly one of the most stupid people in America.
She's just like those android racist biitches on Fox News who sit there and act like being a privileged white person is the only way to be
And the worst thing is that Stacey dash is black. Selling out massively

So a group of people have been mistreated for generations, used, abused and marginalised, have had their bodies used to enrich the lives of others without receiving compensation, live in a society that goes out of its way to treat them as second class citizens or worse... and when they say "actually, we'd like to create something that reflects our culture and speaks to who we are", THEY are the racists?!
This is what you're saying?

not in any way, fully made up by yourself

So what did this mean: "Because it raises racial tensions, gives people the idea its purley racism. Which leads to police being killed."?

What line is that?
African Americans have been striving for racial equality for generations in the USA.
To me it seems a bit counter productive, even hypocritical if you are having groups know as League of Black Lawyers and Black Entertainment Television.
That is the point the woman was making. I happen to think it is valid.

I'm not sure if you can see where I asked a question. Take another look... it's right there. So you'll see I'm asking you to clarify something. Can you do that?
Someone (I forget) asked you: Who cares if a TV company wants to make TV programmes targeted to a particular section of society?
You replied: Because it raises racial tensions, gives people the idea its purley racism. Which leads to police being killed.
You see that bit... "...the idea that it's purely racism..."
So black people create black TV station. White people get irked. Think black people are racist.
You see where my question came from? Again... question.
I assumed we were still on my point about the media/news covering stories, at that point it had raised someone elses points on tv stations, people assumed they were the same.
I happen to think you are wrong too.
Black History Month was another thing she said. She believes it shouldn't be called Black History but American History because that is what it is part of.
I find no issues there either.
And in my question, NOWHERE did I say you were calling black people racist. Just FYI.
Why is her opinion on the situation more relevant than anyone else's on that matter? Because she supports your stance and she's black?
If I can paraphrase a white American on the other side of the argument is that equally as valid?

Because American history fails to acknowledge the contribution of black people. Did you know for example that historical text books i.e. used to teach children in school refer to slaves as immigrants? Fvcking immigrants!! And you think that a system that rewrites history in that way will do justice to black people?

So you're suggesting there is a direct correlation between black entertainment tv (or other) and police being killed.

I was talking about the news channels only covering the stories of unarmed blacks being shot while there are a higher number (not % compared to the population, actual number) of other races also unarmed being shot. Really? What of no relevance have I said? That American history is biased against black people? That's not relevant?
That the use of the word black in the name of an entity that only seeks to provide entertainment to a group of people who felt they weren't catered for isn't racist (by comparison you have a racist organisation that doesn't have the word "white" in it)? That's not relevant?
That because this person is black it doesn't mean she's right? That's not relevant?
Typical arguing tactic. No actual rebuttal so you try and attack me instead.
I see you haven't even acknowledged user Godleebarne's question either. Here it is in case you missed it... "Why is her opinion on the situation more relevant than anyone else's on that matter? Because she supports your stance and she's black?
