Yep, a Liverpool home game in the Mickey Mouse Cup will surely decide if the they are better than the team that's finished above them 6 times in the last 7 years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That 'mickey mouse' cup is the only trophy Spurs have lifted since 1992
Never seen a bunch of fans so convinced their team is so good, without actually achieving anything.

Claerly this game is the perfect opportunity to settle the debate, Liverpool have beaten Spurs in the majority of league games in the past few years yet have finished behind Spurs in the league, but Liverpool have reached 4 finals in this period winning one, Spurs haven't managed to reach one.
So taking all the above into consideration a 4th round EFL tie is the perfect game to finally resolve this, then we can all be mates again and gang up on some other club.

I don't understand Spurs fans calling it a mickey mouse cup either.
If my club were the biggest underachievers in prem history and hadn't won a major trophy in literally decades I reckon I would show it a bit more respect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is when you have CL to contend with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? Chelsea and Man City take it seriously and they've got trophies coming out of their ears.
If Spurs can't manage it fair enough but it's not like you won anything else in decades so....

Perhaps Liverpool should worry about finishing in the Top 4, finishing ahead of Spurs, qualifying for Europe.... You know.. the stuff that matters ! Is there any chance you guys could play well for a month or so before you start running your mouths. You Lost to Burnley 3 weeks ago FFS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That about sums it up though. What really matters is winning things. Which it seems only clubs who ever actually, you know- win things- seem to understand

Spurs haven't managed to reach one.
=======================
They got hammered by Chelsea a couple of years back. I think it's Poch's best ever result in a cup competition actually.

But we have been better than Liverpool for the past 7 years, which is what this is about. Unless you think league form counts for nothing?
Well yeah. They can take it seriously and win other trophies but Spurs can't?
Actually you're right.

This 'war' started when we first achieved Top 4.
Like we'd somehow took their rightful place.
Like it was OUR fault they were experiencing years of shiiiit...
Swarmed our board ever since.....pathetic.

But you are a big club, are you not?

I just think it's quite telling that Liverpool are having their worst period in best part of 50 years and Spurs their best (70 points lol) and somehow they're giving it the big one.
I've said it before it's all relative about what fans consider success.
No LFC fan is happy reaching just finals all the time.
Spurs fans happy getting 70 points.
That's the difference.

This sentence sums Spurs fans up for me;
"But we have been better than Liverpool for the past 7 years, which is what this is about"
Finishing above Liverpool is an achievement
Surprised Spurs fans are so dismissive of the only trophy they've won for 25 years. They think because they've qualified for the CL twice since the name/format change they're a big club.
Actual achievements in the league and cups proves otherwise.
