I just showed my whole office the cost per trophy comment, they're all in stitches.

talk about clutching at straws

And they said 'hang on we've been working all morning while you've been rsing around on a football forum'.

How did you show the whole office exactly? What did you do call everyone to gather round your desk?

-----

It would have went something like this....

"Lads... bruv... check dis out. Some Scouser has found a stat that shows that Tottenham win less than the pool and spend more money per trophy. Know what i mean bruv "

Cue laughter (brought on by absolute humilation).

Think about it, I've managed to ruffle the feathers of a load of cockneys because of Spurs abysmal football record.

This is great

Ok I'll bite the bait. If you view this as your lowly Cup Final game of the season fair enough. We have bigger fish to contend with in other competitions. I expect Mo Po will only put out 2 or 3 players from his first eleven in this match.

We've all had one of them 'efficient' (office speak for lazy ar5e who pretends they're doing stuff) managers.

Shouted along the lines of

'HEY EVERYBODY! GATHER ROUND'

So may people seem to think this was serious

My favourite line is "it's your cup final"

ok that's me

If this was a semi final or a final, then yes there were be slightly more credence to the OP thread title, but come on, neither team will be at full strength. It's like putting out a Audi RS4 with a 50mph speed limiter against a Fiat Panda and seeing what happens. My guess is the RS4 is fastest to 50 and then the Fiat eventually catches up and overtakes. But who really cares about this sort of match up really...same with the game. Of some interest but not our biggest game of the season. Get out some more.

ermmmmm.... nahhh a 4th round league cup tie is no decider of anything is it?

tottenham northspur has it right. they won't be at full strength so when we beat them they will have an excuse

posted on 22/9/16

no excuse at all. If we field a stronger team than you and beat you away, yes I'll be happy with the result but move on to Premier and CL matches. If you field a stronger team than us and beat us, fair play, your manager chose to do that and won the match, and we move on. But it is in no way an ultimate decider, an FA Cup Final with two full strength sides would be a good decider. I doubt even the two Mancs clubs will field full strength teams (one of them might- guess who!)

posted on 22/9/16

To be fair, they already have an excuse.

They will be tired from the exertions of losing in the CL to the mighty Bayer Leverkusen.

And also the exertions against the PL powerhouse that are Bournemouth.

Plus they will be saving themselves for their next match which will be against the PL champions, Leicester.

There you go, plenty of excuses.

again the OP was leaning on the sarcastic side

I'd say we will play pretty much a full strength 11, Origi may start and maybe Grujic or Stewart/Lucas in midfiled and maybe Klavan at CB, but bar 2-3 changes can see Klopp going full strength as he has said he is treating it seriously and wants to ge tback to Wembley after last seasons loss in the final.

Spurs have a tough run of games in that period, someone posted earlier is it 1 home game in 6 including an away CL game? Poch will have to rotate.

So with us being at home and Spurs needing to rotate far more than us to concentrate on the bigger comp in the CL then we will probably be favourites going into the game

Last season the Europa gave an opportunity to give fringe and youth a chance. Thats lost this season as you get punished in the UCL/EPL with this approach.

The EFL Cup is that chance to give these guys more football and its the sort of thing that doesnt mean much to any fan until you are in the semis with a chance of winning it, so regardless of our fixtures that month we'll likely treat it as the 4th choice of 4.

We made 11 changes this week for our game this week. I expect a similar approach vs LFC, maybe with a first team CB and DM added.

Even at full strength, 2 pretty evenly matched sides so i'd put LFC as faves anyway, given the home advantage.

Liverpool are the king of excuses so thanks for lending some of your experience on this matter.

Wow Kneerash obviously your post was a total jibe on all the stupid posts that have been made on the LFC and Spurs boards about each others fans. Can't believe you have over 200 comments just with a sarcastic thread! People need to chill out and enjoy the football. Too many people take it too serious.
