I don't think Kawhi and LBJ would work too well in the same team you know. Those two and Paul George are quite stylistically samey.

Out of those LA kids, the one I really rate is Ingram. A genuine two-way player in the mould of Kawhii ( if he builds up his physique and shoots better) Kuzman needs to want it more but he has shown flashes.

Lonzo Ball I don't rate as a face of franchise player at all. Not a special player and tbh, he and his family can F-off back to Lithuania or whatever

Rondo is probably the most disappointing player in the NBA, at his peak he was one of the best defenders on LBJ and his career hasn't really gone anywhere since his Celtic days.

That being said, I don't like this nuclear arms race of the NBA. Kills competition and not good for the league at all.

This season the interesting part will be in the East. Philly vs Boston. Maybe the Bucks and Giannis ( whose shooting is getting better and better - take note Simmons) will step-up

NBA will forever be known as pre-KD and post-KD.

Didn't rondo have an outworldy game this year, but yeah two few and far between and obviously had attitude problems. Not as talented CP3, or consistent anyways.

I reckon Lonzo Ball could be a great little player if he facks his dad out of it, guys a madman and will only be a hinderance. Apparently Lakers were looking to offload him but the ball camp released a leak saying how he was injured to put people off, because they want to stay in LA.
His second son didn't even get drafted, lamelo I think.

But, if Rondo helps Lonzo, he could get magic numbers in terms of assists.
If Lonzo gets 15 points and 15 assists a game (mostly to lebron) that would be great. Lonzo finding lebron in the lane or the post?

Ingram looks a real player. I really don't know if they will do much this year due to cap space.

Maybe offload one of kuzma/ingram/lonzo(if possible) to get someone in. Not sure lebron needed to take the $154 million deal aswell.

Yeah I agree, but will always feel like a B league now. They might even eventually scrap east vs west seedings and just do the top 16 winning teams.

They need to do something, maybe restrict how many max contracts or reduce teams caps, or not allow 1 year deals for players under a certain age so you could avoid all this cousins for 1 year on $5 million. Basically going to ruin the league this year, cousins gets his chip and then goes somewhere for big money.

Pretty much. Though LMA is by some distance, the league's most frustrating player.

Rondo sees the floor better than most, a real floor general but I supsect, mentally not the strongest. And he keeps wandering between teams and he doesn't score a lot. Assists are well and good but In this modern game, you have to score more.

Rondo can't shoot for toffee.

Just ban GSW and the Lakers to the Turkish league then the NBA will be perfect again

Wonder what contract K Love is on, or korver lebron loves those dudes and they can shoot. He needs someone to space the floor for him. A reason why KD's numbers are not as impressive for me as he is usually in space or isolation everytime he picks up the ball as you cannot leave steph, klay or anyone on the warriors free.

posted on 3/7/18

Btw say what you will about the warriors, but how impressive are Steve Kerr and the management of the francise. While Jordan is floundering as an owner, the rotation player who won a game 6 for him, is doing bits as a manager of a winning team. What him, lacob and co are doing has been unreal and the rest of the nba should be ashamed its got to this.

Edinspur, as a Spur, what do you think of the Kawhii mess?

I think it's very obvious, he doesn't want to stay there. Pop and co don't want to trade him this year and if they do, they prefer the East. He refuses to sign the supermax.

Is keeping him for another year ( and he will continue to stink out the joint) a smart play? Or trade him, cut losses , try get something back and rebuild?

Every day that passes, Kawhii return gets worse IMO

posted on 3/7/18

I really like Steve Kerr tbf and don't begrudge him of this at all. He did what every coach should do, learnt from the best (Pop) and then took his chance.

GSW are an impressively run franchise. No doubt it. Real smart dudes there

I have no idea what the best outcome is for us tbh.

We've always had it quite lucky that we had a top 10 of all time player, and then were able to build the team around him. We've never been a team who buy in superstars, the biggest probably being LMA (ffs) so I am not sure how is best to progress?

Clearly what Kawhi wants is superstar recognition, which is random as during is Finals MVP season I remember him being as humble as Timmy was. Spurs don't have that brand recognition and he would rather leave for money/status than for basketball reasons. To an extent that kind of player just isn't a Spurs player.

posted on 3/7/18

I'd love it if we could get rid of Kawhi somehow and get in Lillard & Davis (massive dream I know). Could recreate the golden era with those guys.

I started following Spurs in 03 because I started liking basketball then and they had the same team-name as Tottenham - but I think if I watched basketball and there wasn't that association I would still route for them as they play basketball the right way and are run the right way.

I support raptors due to an affiliation with the city and family friends live there, my godparents, sadly of which my godmother passed away last week, a month before I visit. Which is sad. But yeah I support lebron(as RTC stated earlier)for his love of just pure basketball and to be the best, and the raptors, but there a damp squib in the playoffs.

Or damp squid to oscar.

damp squid

Sorry to hear that

posted on 3/7/18

Well with LBJ off to the West, I expect to see Raptors finally do something in the east

Is Kawhii after superstar recognition though? I don't know, he already is. Plus the guy never talks, doesn't do social media, is as quiet a star as anyone out there.

Maybe he wants the sneaker deal? And Spurs doesn't have the market for that

posted on 3/7/18

Let's not forget Kawhii is from Cali so that home draw re lakers
