Well with LBJ off to the West, I expect to see Raptors finally do something in the east

Is Kawhii after superstar recognition though? I don't know, he already is. Plus the guy never talks, doesn't do social media, is as quiet a star as anyone out there.

Maybe he wants the sneaker deal? And Spurs doesn't have the market for that

I kind of see that as one and the same though, Spurs superstars are never really superstars in terms of brand and image.

Times have changed a bit though Edin, but yeah kawhi is never really seen or heard so a bit weird. Still don't really know what the fall out was a bout, spurs thought he could play, kawhi didn't but surely that hasn't put such a strain on the relationship. must have been something else.

is some talk of kawhi sitting out the whole of next season

^^^ I saw that,I think they should trade Kawhii and cut their losses.

No need to keep him on and ride out the contract. Trade him to anyone ( east/west conference) and rebuild.

The LBJ to Lakers is becoming more palatable to me as each day/ week passes by.

Whilst I still think staying in the east and a) The Sixers would have been the best basketballing decision, the fact is they were not many places that would have been a good fit . And Lakers are a good fit for his talents.

They badly need shooters though. And I guess next season and the one after is the one to focus on as I don't think another superstar is joining Lakers till next season and a few free-agents ( Durant/Klay/ Kawhii etc) - hence, the short-term deals.

The Ball Family need to f-off though and I sincerely hope the Lakers go nowhere near the washed-up liability that is Carmelo Anthony.

Errrrr wtf is this I’m hearing about The Kawhi deal...

posted on 18/7/18

Raptors have him on a one-year rental and SA did not want him in the West but that is a bum trade IMO. Bad deal by the normally savvy Spurs.

Kawhii has no long term future in Toronto - he just wanted to leave spurs come WhAt May

Cavs giving Klove a four year near-max deal. Another dumb deal by that organisation.

LBJ more than justified leaving

Its Dan Gilbert refusing to tank, he wants to make the playoffs to show he can do it without lebron

Shame as Kevin Love never made the playoffs in minnesota when he was the number one option, and it isn't a tradable contract.

Yeah like you said, really dumb deal

Is Giannis now the second best player in the East?

I say no, but he is maybe top three.

Any hopes for the Bucks this year?

irony considering the random $hit you talk about basketball, boxing and football, and never seen anyone agree with you on any 3 of them once

I’d say Giannis is definitely top 3 in the East. Averaged a double double last season and is still only 23.

Brought in Brook Lopez as a free agent. Gives us a big man who can score. The draft pick was Donte Divincenzo who is an athletic shooting guard with a good jump shot. Seemed to be the right pick, hopefully to fit in with Bledsoe (unless we trade) and Brogdan in the back court and help spread the floor with shooting.

Jabari Parker has moved on the the Bulls though, which I was slightly disappointed at. Bags of ability but very injury prone.

Hopefully they can make a bit more progress this year and go one further in the playoffs. Moved to a new arena this summer too, which might help attract better free agents in the next few years to have a proper push.

posted on 26/7/18

Yeah, Jabari Parker move was disappointing. He can't defend for toffee though.

Doubt the new arena would help though

I like Giannis and his shooting has improved immensely. I fear he might fall into what I term the LBJ curse: versatility.

I think if LBJ had focused on one or two positions ( even in this positionless NBA) and played as a SF/PF, he'd have a lot more rings ( organisation luck ofc).

He is a master of all and Giannis is similar ( not as blessed as LBJ ). To lead his team in five statistical categories at 23 ( as LBJ used to do and was still required to do) is a thankless task.

As things stand, my current top three players in the East are a) Kawhii ( if the Kawhii of two seasons shows up
b) Joel Embiid
c) Giannis

Case can be made for Kyrie but he is not a capable defender and Simmons ( but he can't shoot for toffee)

posted on 26/7/18

Giannas ahead of Embiid for me. The Process just not really don’t it long enough.

Giannis *

Also agree on LBJ, would’ve been nice to see a pure ball handler play with him during his career and get LBJ off playing point. Would have more rings for sure, LBJs catch and shoot is just unbelievable; don’t care anymore though he sold out for the lakers the lowlife.

Giannis is the second best player in the east imo now Kawhi has been traded to the raptors.

My early pick for MVP too, fancy the Bucks to be a 50 win team now they have a coach who knows what he's doing.

posted on 27/7/18

I'd have kyrie over any of those in the East, proven winner and clutch af. That's injuries permitting of course.

posted on 27/7/18

Oh yeah, actually forgot about him. Him and Kawhi the priiick are 1 & 2 with Giannis coming third.

Kyrie with the nasty handles mannn.
