Melo would be good in the Warriors I reckon, they don't even need plays just pass the ball about a bit and hope one of your top 3 GOAT shooters get a free look.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
d'you think? I don't think carmelo's 3 point shooting is that great. But would have to check numbers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
More that he can shoot from anywhere, and his ability to score from midrange is probably second to KD
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think you are confusing Knicks-Melo with this iteration.
He is not even half the player he was. I actually think he is a bust now.

Yeah I am happy to accept that he probably isn't the player he was maybe 3/4 years ago but that could be through deterioration or poor coaching.
Since nobody has mentioned it.
A massive thank you to the legend Manu Ginobli for everything he has achieved. Arguably the greatest 6th man of all time; such an exciting flair player and a key component to one of the greatest balling dynasty's of all time.
Manu
What a player. Him and Duncan the real MVP's of that team. What a beast. Could have probably left alot for more gametime.

Maybe if Kawhii rose to the occasion, he might have had one more year in him.
Came to the league a little late but he maximised his potential and his will-to-win is up there with many/any.
About a month to the season tips off.
I just pre ordered 2k19. one of the only games I play nowadays with FIFA. And even that's rarely.
I reckon Lakers to finish 5th in the west and to head out in the semi finals. Max conference finals.

Yeah, I see that too - though they might surprise a few and make it third/fourth seed or even drop to sixth or so seed). GSW has it on lockdown anyway.
yeah if a laker like lonzo or kuzma can come up with a mad season they could easily do damage.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
both very overrated, nothing special
Whose overrating them? Lonzo got pelters all last year.
Lonzo is the one at risk of losing his starting berth even. Especially as he's pretty bad at shooting and with LBJ handling the ball (initially to start with, despite his murmurs about playing off-the-ball) and assist king in Rajon Rondo, Lonzo could be traded.
Brandon ingram is the one guy who could be special and in his third season now ( needs to beef up though and get some dog in him)Josh Hart was summer's league MVP?
Kuzma is ready and has the dog but Is he a special player in the making??
That being said, Lakers have a talented young core and I understand why they didn't want to trade away their future for Mr. Kawhii as SAS requested but do any of the guys have it in them to be an all-star? The commitment and consistency
We'd know by all-star weekend. Anyhow, AD, KD, Kawhii, Kyrie and Klay could all be available next year.
They can get kawhi on a free next year regardless can't they? And then use lonzo/kuzma and whoever to trade of for their last piece.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed, they can. And they have cap space to do so and maybe him max deal.
I actually think if one of their young guys, steps up and has a huge year. Kawhii alone might be enough to win the damn thing ( Kawhii of the year before- no one still knows if he is fine), and fit!
But yeah, one more in addition to Kawhii and Lakers would be the favourites!
Off, I am not including Boogie as a permanent fixture on GSW ( can't afford a fit and firing Boogie), and I don't see Boogie getting back on court till Easter at the earliest anyway.
What's actually up with him? I know he's been injured (boogie btw) but he's been out forever it seems.
But yeah I wouldn't be suprised if a Kevin love/chris bosh type figure rocked up at LA with kawhi next year.
This would be nice:
Porzingis(or similar attributed big)
Kawhi
Lebron
Ingram
Kuzma(or replacement)
Hopefully he is out forever

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That you, Pop?
Seriously, a fit and firing Kawhii who is a top three / top four player in the league is missed -LBJ/KD/AD/Kawhii- depending on order of preference.
Kawhii is a very odd chap though. No doubt about it. A reluctant and odd superstar (on-court superstar, as he has no off court presence)
Boogie bursted up his Achilles tendon in Feb and for a big man, you are looking at a year. Sometimes more, before they fully recover.
Even then, the structural integrity is wobbly and athleticism is not quite the same in a lot of cases.
Boogie might never be Boogie again. Hopefully, not the case for him as he did sustain said injury at a younger age than other stars in the past ( It was what heralded the fall of Kobe and the exit of Patrick
Cousins will finish his career having one of the most disappointing in his era I reckon.
Butler wants out and his list of teams he want to go to is odd

Butler wants out and his list of teams he want to go to is odd
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why?
The 2019 free-agency class is stacked and he is trying to position himself. Butler is also not a top-fifteen player IMO. In a championship roster, he'd be the 3rd best player IMO (2nd best if you're being generous).
Besides, Butler doesn't have the personality to work with young kids. Second ( or third?) club now that he has fallen out with the young ones. He doesn't know how to lead a team IMO.
I also like the fact that Butler is not going to ride any coatails. He is going to teams that have not won any champs or won in a while. Butler's always got heart.
Think about in Free-agency next year or potential trades: KD, AD*, Kawhii, Kyrie, Klay, Cousins. Would Butler make your top six if you had the cap space and opportunity to get one of the above and choose Butler over them?
I mention AD because rumours are swirling that he wants to leave Pelicans. Plus, his new representation is LBJ's.
No surprise Kawhi laughs like that btw
