I would just stick with Root to open in the final 2 tests..He shouldn't have moved from 4.. But hes the best option to open with Cook in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong I would have had Leach in the side however I would prefer an extra batsmen in the side than Batty who is doing nothing with the ball. There is not a spinner in the squad who could come in and do a better so why should Batty hold a place which could result in extra runs.

I will agree with you that Woakes should be higher than Rashid. However I feel Moeen is a far stronger option at 7 than Buttler.

Why are there so many people on this site like yourself who insult and bully people of a different opinion. Batty is not getting wickets, we have no real spin options to replace him. Why not replace with a batsman when it's been our lack of runs which have been the problem.

Can you name one side in the history of test cricket, that won with a specialist batsman at 8 and an allrounder at 10 ?

Even just the specialist batsman at 8's fine

I apologise if my tone was inappropriate, but really. I cant think of any test match side ever with a specialist batsman picked to bat at 8. It just wouldnt happen fella.
