Kohli has bee excellent this series...

But it must be worry for Indian fans that they are fast becoming a one-man team at home... similar things were said about the tendulkar era but he was surrounded with other quality batsmen... but this bunch aremiles away. Which is (one of the reasons) why I think India don't deserve the no1 tag

To be fair the only place Kohli hasn't done it is in England but I'm sure that will change when they next tour England. He's dominated in Australia, NZ, and SA.

I'd have him ahead of Kane Williamson with ease.

Don't think much separates Kohli, Root, Smith and AB in test cricket.

ABD a better ODI and T20 player? On what planet? Not a chance in my opinion. No one has a record like Kohli when chasing a game in limited overs Cricket. De Villiers is one of the best and the stats back this up but in my mind Kohli is on a higher level.

No chance AB is better than Kohli in ODI. In white ball cricket Kohli is on another planet

As Boss said in his list, i'd have Smith and AB definitely ahead of Kohli, and perhaps Root as well.

I think kohli is reaching there now. There was no question of him being the best in limited overs. He doesn't play those breathtaking shots that ab plays but the consistency kohli scores his runs in is incredible.

In tests kohli scoring runs at home is actually quite new. Before this series he did score 100s at home but he has not had a very prolific run in India.this series has changed that. So far Williamson and root have done nothing exceptional in these conditions.

Perhaps Root?

Definitely Root. Most consistent run scorer and scoresacross the globe wether it be England, Asia, or elsewhere. Best player in the world quite comfortably in test match cricket.

Serial root is a great player and has been scoring runs consistently, but you also have to question how many times he has given away his starts away. He scores so many 50s but struggles to convert them to 100s at times.

India will now want to extend this lead to 100+. Kohli should look to reach double 100. If we can manage to bat a whole session tomorrow, this game will all but over for England. At least in terms of an eng win.

That's not a bad problem to have is it.

He's got 11 hundreds though at an average of 53. 400 more runs than Kohli from the same games. He's 3 years younger than Kohli too and it's worth noting Root has played a lot of his cricket opening and at 3 and around 50% of his games away from home.

And similarly kohlis 100s have mainly come away from India. Of the 15 test 100s, only 6 has come at home.

And root plays a lot more test cricket than kohli.india to have massive gaps between test series and we don't have any tests coming up once our home season finishes. Root will no doubt remain as one of the best current era batsman and these 4 way comparisons are bound to happen for next few years. Exciting times ahead

Kohli is clearly a player of the very top echelon.

Why have England been so reluctant to use there pace bowlers so far? I just don't get it. The pitch doesn't seem to be offering that much to the spinners.

Welcome to India lads. This is the exact demoralising manner in which England beat us in 2011 when we looked absolutely clueless in alien conditions.

This is the same England that Pakistan have beaten 5 nil in uae and lost to Bangladesh. You are hardly hitting new ground here.

Jeez just switched on thinking we'd be batting and up near 100

Lol Jennings out for a duck. Could really have been a pair if he wasnt dropped on naught in the first innings.

England pacers should be ashamed. Sure the spinners were average but it doesn't mean the pacers should put there feet up. Bowlers like Steyn and Starc would have still got wickets on this track.

LBW was harsh. Plenty of doubt that the ball was going to miss wicket.
