After how they performed at Valencia its hard to take the Neville's seriously

If not mistaken Carragher has been pretty brutal in his criticisms of certain Liverpool players too.

The liverpool gk has made a few mistakes but what was funny was that Neville mentioned De Gea as being world class but forgets he was like a fish out of water for 1-2 seasons at united before finally clicking.

Including Karius of course...

For someone the media paints as this big warm and cuddly teddy bear klopp can frequently come across as a bit whiny and petulant. He should take a dose of his own advice, work out that players and managers get criticised all the time, and just get on with it, rather than heading off on some personal vendetta.

It makes sense but what do you expect Pundits to do.

They call it as they see it with the added bias of them being fans included.

Everyone can see Karius is horseshiit so they should be able to say it, at the same time Klopp should be free to take a dig back at Gary especially as he should be embarrassed at his own attempt at management.

Klopp's only real point in this is to deflect criticism away from Karius - and whether he's a good keeper in general or not, he's obviously struggled to settle

Didn't carragher more or less echo what Neville said

Klopps being a bit precious imo

whats the point of pundits if they cant be critical? it's not like its just the Nevilles either... both Carragher and Redknapp have had a pop.

If anything I think the pundits on Sky, BT and BBC often sit on the fence and aren't critical enough

Neville in charge of Valencia is like a 10 year old playing Fifa manager mode on their PlayStation.

Get it? Get it?

I rarely watch punditry these days, but I do think klopp is being a bit precious here. It's a pundits job to criticise and praise when it's due. This is hardly the first case of over criticising.

I don't think klopp would be saying this if karius hadn't hit out in the first place.

underhanded sneaky pair mancs is what he wants to say

true, though you can't help but feel that every time he opens his mouth on the subject he heaps just a tiny bit more pressure onto karius' shoulders.

and for what it's worth i don't even think karius' mistakes over the last few games have been that bad, but for all the hot air it has generated you'd think he'd gone and done a taibi.

It would make great TV if at half time and full time of matches, the pundits (people that are paid to talk about the game, and analyse what has happened in the match) all refused to talk about any mistakes the players made.

And Neville was just as critical of de gea during that period

Liverpool manager in being precious shocker.

Manager deflects attention away from underperforming player in an attempt to rebuild his confidence. Nothing new to see here.

The Nevilles are highlighting the issue with Karius.

Leading to Klopp refusing to back down and drop him.

Costing Liverpool points.

Fantastic work if you are a United fan.

Hasn't really deflected attention, I've not heard anyone mention Karius since a couple hours after the game, until now.

All this spare time with no European football you would think Klopp would have worked on his goal keepers a bit more.

If anything, I find that in their early career, pundits like Neville and Carra sometimes overcompensate for the perceived bias by being overly harsh on their club and a little soft on the known rivals.

Neville raises a very valid point, and that is one of the 2 reasons they will not win the league this season.

strongest 10 outfield players, they can match and beat anyone in the league.

where they fall short is squad depth and the goalkeeper.

De Gea did struggle and got much worse than Karius. But with De Gea, you could see he had something. Karius doesn't seem to. He could go on to become a decent player, but I don't see it.

Gary Neville's failure isn't really that big considering that they are still struggling (17th in La Liga). Even Klop got relegated and he nearly did the same at Dortmund, so he does come across as petulant here.
