I do wonder whether these obsecene wages we give out are contributing to a lack of motivation among many at the club.

Playing for United and earning such wages would naturally lead to a lot of players thinking they've made it.

Lol. People only remember players getting overpaid or how we are wasting money when it comes to homegrown players. Half our players are overpaid! In special cases some we paid record transfer fees in addition. Cry me a river pls, when a youth player who has been key, become an England international and cost us nothing gets paid.

Since it hurts so much when we over pay players. I hope I see a whine like this when Pogba or myhki or martial plays horribly. "Why are they paid so much?!"

Isn't it pretty obvious why we pay so much for at least 2 of them in both Mkhi and Pogba. Both had outstanding talent or potential talent before they came and many other clubs around Europe would have had them before they joined us. Yes they may not have performed to the levels of their previous clubs but for one it is their first season in England. Martials season last season at least completely eclipses what lingard has done in his entire career. His level is hull, Burnley etc and his wages should reflect that

Possibly with some players but I have a strong suspicion that Lingard won't be like that. Whatever people think of him, he does make effort

Plus under Jose I don't think he'll let people get like that.

He'll have spent this season sizing up who he can rely on and who will be part of his overhaul and he obviously sees Lingard as his Mikel/Oscar drone

i think most utd fans liked all three
I personally loved welbeck and it still hurts me to see him in an arsenal shirt, only consolation for hiss loss is his terrible injury record

But these sqaud players will improve as our first teamers do.... Drop lingard in our 07/08 side and he'd look better, get more assists and score more.

I don't think he's any better or worse than cousin Ji. Similar players, in fact

Let us take Fletch and then compare him with Groot.

Now, I wasn't a big fan of Fletcha s most will remember but he was a much better midfield player than Groot will ever be.

Gotta love people on here slating a guy who has been good for us this season yet don't say a word to slate Martial and others who have been poor

I am still waiting for jose/lingard fan boy to tell me one attacking player thatis worse than lingard (navas excluded)

this is a genuine request to help me rationalise things
