It didn't look at just the old version of hard copy media, it looked across the board including TV etc. That's something that cannot be ignored. Media has a massive influence within the countries politics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
William Hague got dogs abuse across the board from 97, despite being a poster boy Tory.
Corbyn and Miliband are odd little weirdos, just like Hague was. Of course they are going to get a going over.
This isnt an audition to run the local community centre, it is to be a leader and statesman
Re the media....
Is it the media influencing public opinion?
Or is the media just giving the public what they like to hear?
UK media have a lot to answer for. Especially in regard to brexit. 40+ years of misinformation and lies in regard to the EU helped shape the landscape which led up to brexit.
EU commission certainly consider the UK media as one of the main obstacles to reaching an agreement with the UK.
Agree with Galv ,5 ,the labour party must really wake up and get into the 21st century.

Are you attempting to guess people's ages from their political ideologies or have you got to that age where everyone is young and naive to you?

The sad truth is that still in this country you still can't win an election without the support of the media. The media is very right wing, and still the majority of people will just follow what they say, and let themselves be influenced by it, probably without even realising. its all manufacturing consent, diversion and distraction from what the real reason for the ordinary persons struggles are.
The reality is whoever was in charge of labour, or any party, if they pursued the polices of corbyn, they would be utterly demonised and misrepresented. Studies have clearly shown that 75% of media misrepresents Corbyn. Polls also show that corbyn-like policies are very popular amongst voters. But people won't vote for him, because they were immediately told he wasn't unelectable, and made their minds up then. Majority of People are either too busy or just don't care enough to look further into the polices of political parties, and really assess what impact they'd have on their lives, so they just go with what the mass feeling is.
Corbyn can do better, and should really try to get on TV a lot and just hammer home policies. Its a shame 80% of his MPs won't do the same. I'd also like to see the suggestion of a left wing alternative progressive coalition talked about. Because I don't think any they'll be enough votes to secure a single party opposition to the tories
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The issue with Corbyn is that he almost allowed himself to be painted as this hard left ideologue, when in reality a lot of his policies are pretty reasonable.
The mainstream media maybe a very big obstacle, but it certainly can be resisted. You can look at Bernie Sanders in the US, and see what he achieved in a much tougher environment for left wing policies. He was a self described democratic socialist and he narrowly lost to Clinton, despite having far less resources and starting from being completely unheard of at the beginning of the campaign.
The difference between Corbyn and Sanders is that Bernie has charisma, and is able to frame a narrative much better than Corbyn. Like you have said, Corbyn needs to spend a lot more time on TV, speaking directly to the public, rather than allowing social media and the news papers frame the narrative.
I think it's unfair to tar Corbyn with that brush without mentioning the charisma vacuum that is Theresa May. Unfortunately, it looks like there will be no Live TV debates at this election so not much opportunity for anyone to spread their policies, meaning people will (and are already) lap up the lie that this election is the only way to leave the EU. That makes it another conservative v liberal dogfight. So much for people coming together...

If May refuses to do any live debates, they should still hold them and feature an empty chair where she should have been. The same with any other party leader who avoids it.

I will never vote for the Tory party as I fundamentally disagree with everything they stand for. There are alternatives, unless you believe all the spin from the media and the Blairites.

Tamwolf, during the miner's strike of 1984/5 a miner stood up in front of the Conservative party conference that year, introduced his name and said"Working miner and a Conservative." The conference applauded him. Not all working people vote Labour and the Conservatives stand for freedom, not crippling high taxes and monetary restrictions like how much you can take abroad with you. They don't agree with high borrowing and having to pay back at a huge interest but rather we live within our means. The lower the taxes then the more money you have in your pocket.
Kinnock is a multi millionaire, Denis Healy sent his kids to fee paying schools and Blair is a 33rd degree Freemason, VERY rich to get there. Labour? Are they really?
Without Scotland Labour will have no chance and Corbyn is a self inflicting destruct weapon.

Of course they'd applaud him. He's a conservative, they're not exactly going to jeer him are they? That would be political suicide.
And just as you use the argument that not all working class people vote Labour, not all the wealthy are Conservative.
You attack Labour for having wealthy members and defend Tories for having one working class member.
Where's the consistency? What exactly is your point?
1985 was the last time the Tories pretended to care about the working class...
The Tories destroying every public service, and being investigated for electoral fraud. Honestly you would have to be a village idiot to vote them back.
